This is not a powerscaling debate so haters are free to fuck off. Most of the criticism (found or unfounded) about Zoros character is lack of character development (not enough crying moments for woke shitheads?) or that Oda only reserves him for cool moments. With the focus on power scaling people forget that Zoro is also going to earn a lot of fame like Luffy - look at three guys he is paralleled/compared with, Ryuma, Mihawk, Rayleigh. Ryuma has a legendary status, Mihawk is the current WSS and most famous swordsman, Rayleigh is the Dark King -everybody knows his name.
Then you look at how Oda has portrayed Zoro from the start, he was famous even before Luffy as the Pirate Hunter and 1000 chapters later Kaido also calls him Pirate Hunter, we also get the Zoro being called Luffys subordinate and Sanji being pirate A/B joke in EL.
Almost in every arc, Zoro gets some feats which are witnessed or leave marks and which will add up to his legend, for example Zoro becoming part of the WSS debate between public after DR.

East Blue - He was already famous but then he defeated Morgans, the Nyaban Brothers, fought Mihawk, raided Arlong Park.
Alabasta - Defeated 100 bounty hunters, Mr.5, Daz Bones
Skypeia - Defeated Ohm but that will probably never become part of the legend or recounted as a famous event by the blue sea
EL - Train cut, Aqua Laguna, Kaku
TB - Ryuma, Oars, Nothing Happened (Lolas members saw it)
SA - attacking CD (Bonney stopped him but the other SNs saw it)
FI - Palace raid, Hody, Hyozo
PH - Dragon slice (only SHs though), Monet
DR - Pica, Fujitora
Wano - Magistrate, Hawkins, Killer, Apoo, Hakai, Kaido scar (only Law witness), King (video recorded/transmitted)
EH - Lucci
Wano is weird in a sense that the real feats (Kaido and King, Kaido died) did not have the witnesses like Picas defeat. Zoro lived up to his Pirate Hunter name by beating 3 SNs and making two his cheerleaders. Maybe Kings defeat will be treated like Daz Bones but it feels weird. Until Kaido, Zoro never inflicted lasting damage on his opponents but then he scarred Kaido, broke Kings sword and cut his wing and brutalized Lucci (which will probably also leave a scar). Will this theme continue?
