The reasons why Oda created Weevil, Katakuri and Kaido Jr are :

• That Luffy isnt yet ready to handle Yonko 1 v 1 and win so he needs to surpass their sons!
• And They will help Luffy vs WG or a Yonko

Weevil is being manipulated by his Mom, When he comes this arc or the next, he will be fought by Luffy and changed. New ally!

Katakuri and Luffy respects each other now. Ally!

Kaido Jr will be another Yonko Son that Luffy will fight and beat ,then befriend
Even Ace, was someone created for Luffy to bond with and surpass.

• With Ace, Luffy was trying to surpass him in combat and piracy and he did that when he is named Yonko Candidate. Sabo is the Ace of NW
• With Kata, Luffy needed FS and speed to surpass him.
• With Weevil (who has WB strength) luffy will need to have superior Physical strength
• With Kaido Jr, Luffy will need to show superiority in physical stats or CoA I guess?

Luffy cant solo any Rocks pirate 1 v 1 and win, he isnt yet! Kata/KaidoJr/Weevil are there to serve as pushes. Since he cant beat Yonko & Akainu (FA) alone yet! So Oda has to create Sons for Luffy to beat solo and grow.

Since Weevil is being hunted by Navy, I doing think he will show up in at 3 or 4 ,probably after wano only.
Wano is long (2 more weeks at least left), luffy probably solo Kaido jr in act 3, since alliance will lose anyway , rest and then he will fight Kaido with others whereby they will lose . This arc is huge.
DR : Big brother, Sabo. Vs Doffy ( G4 unveiled)
WCi : vs Kata (gaining FS)
Wano : (already gained AdCoA) will solo Kaidor Jr.
alliance + navy take down Kaido & BM (bm might fall too)
Elbaf/whatever arc : vs Weevil ( upgrading CoC or Physical strength only)
Last Yonko arc : vs Teach (learning awakening).

Unlike Garp, luffy will actually be allies with the Rocks Jr squad.

If Luffy and his alliance somehow manage to accomplish their missions by defeating Kaido + Orochi + Big Mom forces, then this will solidify Marine's power. Luffy + Revos + Whitebeard forces failed.

It is looking like Kaido / Big Mom are going to fall to Luffy and it is going to be funny.

I can see Kaido Jr. being Luffys main fight, then Kaido goes down entirely in a team battle later on though this arc


But yes, I agree with everyone else, Kaido in the LEAST will fall this arc. I just think Luffy is warranted a mano a mano fight, which he likely won't get with Kaido.

You still making that bet? Lol, cause it aint happening in 25 chapters.

In fact, like with every "Oda/Editor Confirmation", I am willing to bet 5 years is extremely blown out of proportion in an effort to attract fans of this manga to feel more invested as we reach the manga's final phases. It won't be 5 more years (which is now 4.2 more years), it will be longer. Maybe in 5 years we will reach the beginning phases of the Final War, that way people can see the end of the road but it will still take many chapters to actually finish. You realize that after 300+ chapters Oda has only dealt with Kaido and (maybe) Big Mom right? After this arc finishes, he still has:

- Address 2 more Yonko, 3 if Big Mom's storyline continues.
- Sabo, the Revolutionaries and their plot with Vivi/Alabasta, Kuma, and more
- Vegapunk, his Marine Science Division, and the SSG
- Caesar and Judge/Germa, assuming they are not returning in Wano (my assumption is a Vegapunk arc)
- Whereabouts of Smoker and Tashigi
- Tie up the remaining Supernova storylines, i.e. Bonney and Urouge. Tie up whatever Supernova plotlines that lead them to ally with Luffy for the end or face against him.
- Bring the Strawhat fleet back into the fold
- Bring back Crocodile, Enel and Moria, who have been teased to have further relevance in the story.
- Tie in all former shichibukai and their remaining plotlines (Hancock, Kuma, Mihawk, Buggy and Weevil)
- Aokiji's whole deal with Teach
- The Marines in general (Akainu being a driving force against Luffy aside from Blackbeard in the least). Fujitora, Ryokugyu and Kizaru's roles in the end.
- Sword and their significance opposed to the entire Marine force.
- Locations like Vegapunk's facility (if its part of the other locations in this list), Elbaf, God Valley, Lodestar, Laugh Tale, New Marineford and Mariejois being addressed. Where will the Final War take place? My guess is the final 2 locations I mentioned.
- The Entire World Government. Im's play. Gorosei, Kong, etc etc.
- The 3 Ancient Weapons
- Void Century/True History
- Laugh Tale
- And like 50 other minor/character plotlines I'm not mentioning.

Its not ending in less than 5 years. Its not ending in less than 200 chapters. Wano still has at least 60-70 chapters to go and that is being generous. Even if Wano's ending is 'surprising', it will certainly not address the majority of the above here.


And listen, even if he merges some of the plotlines and character arcs together, it still doesn't matter. He needs to dedicate whole chapters and plotlines to even finish or tie up these things. You can have a Vegapunk arc that deals with CP-0, Kuma, Sabo, Bonney, SSG, and more, or you can have Vegapunk reside on Elbaf and it not only deals with that, but Loki, Giants, Usopp's personal story, and whatever else the island revolves around. OR you can have it all thrown into the final war, it just makes the final war longer.

Point is, it needs to be addressed and will take time, unless you expect One Piece to end like Bleach.

Try shoving that in the next 4.5 years. Its not happening. YOU YOURSELF thought Kaido was going down by Chapter 1000.


Edit: Anyway, I think the better argument to make is if Luffy will fight another Yonko Commander alone before the alliance takes on 1 or both Yonko together. Its at a point where if Luffy defeats Kaido on his own, the remaining villains will not have a sense of presence that will feel intimidating. Kaido WILL go down this arc, yes, but I think Luffy will not be solely responsible for his defeat. Think of how many people it took to take down Whitebeard in Marineford, a place FULL of High Tier characters (Squardo, a bunch of fodder, Kizaru, Akainu, Blackbeard and his entire crew). This is how you topple 1 or 2 Yonko and still allow Marine Admirals and other Yonko in the least feel intimidating, let alone any other possible arc villains post-Wano who are neither.
