Teach has inherited Xebec’s will and the dream of becoming the King of the World. A goal even Xebec couldn’t fully achieve.
His crew follows him because they believe in this legacy and his destiny.
2. The Plan
Every step in Teach’s rise has been calculated.
By obtaining the power of Imu and the Ancient Weapons, he will overthrow the WG and become the undisputed King of the World.
3. The Other Side of the Coin
Teach is the perfect mirror opposite to Luffy.
Both are dreamers and pirates, but while Luffy fights to protect his friends and share his freedom, Teach brings freedom through destruction and chaos, with the ambition to reach the top of the world at any cost.
They are also the two faces of Nika, the god of liberation. The light and the dark.
As pirates, they share only the fact that they are dreamers. In every other way, they are polar opposites.
This makes Teach the ideal antagonist for someone like Luffy, who represents the other side of the battle for the future of the world.
