Current Events The roof battle is absolutely garbage so far

Is Roof Piece trash so far?

Big Mom never should have made it to the roof. Kaido and Big Mom alone are still too much for the SN to handle, and putting them both together was just overkill. So Oda has to have them just stand there and take attacks, otherwise the War would have been over already. I get the whole "Strength in numbers" thing Oda is going for, but that only works when the majority are at least somewhat comparable to those they are fighting. As it stands though, in a 1 v 1 fight Kaido and Big Mom steamroll anyone on that roof. Hard to get into the fight when you can't suspend your disbelief to that degree. Oda must have realized this, which is why everything is getting off paneled, and he's decided to split the Yonko up.

Roofpiece is decent (when we see the attacks, unlike this chapter which was purely character driven)
Fakeoutdeathpiece is bad, hyogoro,Ashura, Kanjuro, Orochi, all ridiculously obvious but still tremendous amounts of wasted panel time, NO ONE CARES ODA, DRAW THE STRAWHAT FIGHTS AND END THE ARC, Orochi isn't killing Kaido with fire ffs.

You’re the only fool here if you think luffy goes from getting one shotted by base kaido to taking multiple hits from hybrid kaido and still standing after training for a couple of days with fodders is a natural progression
You fell for plot hype.
Lucci and Crocodile easily dispatched Luffy too, Caesar fucking Clown toyed with Luffy at the beginning of his arc.
Luffy at the beginning of every arc is plot restricted and nerfed.

A move inferior to Raime Hakke knocked out distracted Oden, doesn't mean Oden wasn't near Kaido level.
Kaido fought a distracted Luffy who was rage filled and didn't know how to bypass scale defense.
World class boxers can knock each other out with one punch, or go for 12 rounds, doesn't mean they are massive levels apart.

The fight just started but it been pretty much meh.
Oda is trying to showcase Kaido trying to break Luffy will & other supernova will but they have an undying spirit. Hence why Kaido said the light never leaves your eyes, does it? To Luffy
My problem is.. its not engaging enough, we don't see Kaido nor Linlin get up close to the supernovas to showcase their superior physical strenght nor are they going after the others supernovas like splitting them up. Kaido and Linlin seem to only have their sight on Luffy for the most part.

Now Oda wants to split Linlin & Kaido up, perhaps the ground/flooring will break and Oda used a bit of forshadowing of it before. However Linlin is flying, so maybe Kaido will go down. I just hope it's a feasible explanation other then, I gonna make Linlin stupid one more last time.

He was one shotted by kaido's strongest attack. What did you expect to happen? To get one shotted by the same attack twice? Luffy, getting stronger in a small matter of time, its sth that has happened many times in the past(ennies lobby, katakuri fight).
So you didnt think that luffy would be able to cause damage to kaido. Out of curiosity, how did you expect kaido be defeated?
