He hyped kaido so much as this durable beast indestructible monster
Luffy went mental on his ass , and he couldn’t even scratch him , you know luffy “the 5th emperor” ?

he have luffy train so hard and build up the moment when luffy finally Manage to accomplish the impossible and injure kaido

also the whole enma is the Only weapon to injure kaido , building up a huge moment For zoro

and then you have Kinemon to be the first person to injure kaido

Luffy’s multiple haki punches couldn’t do shit to kaido but one attack from Kinemon could ??

not only Kinemon but all the scabbards managed to do that, even freakin bullets injured kaido

why make a huge fuss about the durability of kaido when characters below commanders level can injure him with ease , unless you think Kinemon raizo kiku izo are on the same level with marco king kata doffy etc...

so with this not only kaido’s hype was destroyed but oda also destroyed what could have been huge moments for luffy and zoro

Obviously this is not the only terrible writing from oda
Some of his worst are Turning sanji’s into a walking nosebleeds , big mom’s whole character is a big joke , Turned Robin from being the most interesting character to being a useless fan service, the pacing of the manga etc...
But the scabbards for me is one of his worst if not THE worst
I think oda is amazing at creating likable characters and interesting scenarios but as a writer he’s pretty average
At least compared to absolute gods like naoki urasawa or takehiko inoue


so my question is do you still think oda is “goda” ?
or do you think he is overrated like hell ?

Luffy’s being “the 5th emperor” should put him at least as the strongest yonko commander in the series, Kinemon with one hit did what luffy couldn’t do with multiple gear 4 punches
The same Kinemon who couldn’t cut the birdcage could cut kaido
The same Kinemon who was swatted like a fly by doffy was the first person in the current timeline to injure the strongest character in the series

I don't think the problem is bypassing Kaido's scales and injure him, we know he took 7Ls and he sure had to fight against someone who knew advanced CoA the problem was to leave him with an actual scar and only Oden did that

Ryou is only an increase in AP, so it's more brute force. There is nothing special about it.

Luffy implying that with Advanced Haki (first lvl) he would be able to destroy Kaido' scales which he earlier couldn't = more AP.

That lvl of Advanced Haki is only stronger than the normal Haki cause it gathers the Haki from other parts which the user does not need and it is added to the punch.

Basically, 1+1 = 2. The more Haki, the stronger the hit.

Kkg is Boundman's finisher
Using KKG on kaido, Cracker or bm won't change much coz It won be effective as it was against doffy.

Luffy went all out, he tried his best and realised he can't win with boundman alone ..why waste more energy by using KKG which takes up more stamina even.
