This is how Oda drew Sanji catching Nami and holding her

You can see the Romantic tease.

This is how Oda drew Zoro catching and holding Nami.

Just a random background event with not single solo panel

We can clearly there's greater effort and emphasis on the former and not the latter.

The reasons are very clear

@AverageNamiEnjoyer @Zemlya
I mean, Zoro gets loved by more women so him touching one isn't a big deal. Unlike Sanji who touches a woman every blue moon (as proven by the fact that the picture is from WCI, literally 3 arcs ago). So Oda has to emphasize that shit more

Having ugly scar and losing an eye objectively make you not a good looking
Even irl women find Zoro as very very attractive, what are you even talking about lmao

I'm a LuNa shipper first then SaNa shipper second. It's an interesting dynamic were Luffy views Nami as intrinsic to his life, Nami views Luffy as her treasure (Nami could have easily chosen to live at her village after Arlong's defeat, but, instead, chose to willingly become what she hates most; a pirate. Why? She loves Luffy), and Sanji simps for Nami but also truly loves her.

Nami is very fond of Sanji, Nami is just very intelligent and knows that if you give him an inch he'll take a mile, so Nami goes out of her way to not flirt with Sanji directly.

Nami argues with Luffy very much like a wife argues with her husband, and in Wano we had Nami and Luffy become parental figures to the same child, Tama.

IMO this won't come to a head and Boa Hancock shows up. Romance on the crew is impossible because Luffy just isn't interested, but, once Boa arrives at Elbaph, we'll have a Nami vs Boa showdown based on Boa challenging Nami for Luffy.

EOS I expect Nami to be with Luffy but also be with Sanji, like Rayleigh has Shakky but sleeps around.

Zoro is the dark horse here, because Zoro is the character that typically ends up engaging with Nami in financial disputes, which is also a trademark of romantic couples.

There's a chance Zoro x Nami happens at the end of this series like Vegeta x Bulma did and pisses a shit ton of people off.

IMO, though, Nami will follow Luffy forever after Arlong, and Boa's attack on Nami will make Luffy have to come to terms with the fact that grown women actually want the King Kong Gun.

Chopper x Carrot is still the best Straw Hat ship, but if I speak more about this, I be in big trouble.

Sanji will end up with Pudding. His entire character focus is kindness, and Sanji's kindness purifying Pudding's broken heart is a plot point Oda's not done with.

IMO some hoe is coming to pull up on Sanji and start beating him up, and when Pudding shows up she'll kill that bitch dead.

Expect Pudding in Wano Act 4, she's important because her Fruit is the only mechanism to make Linlin recall her memories of eating Mother Carmel.

The thing is, whatever the author likes, we'll get.

Who else here has read a series where one romantic ship sailed, over another character that had much more of a connection with the main protagonist? And I don't mean objectively, I mean MOST of the community agreed the losing ship had way more emotional connection than the winning one.

Authors are simps/shippers, too. So, IMO, examining Oda here is very important.

Oda's "favorite" character in One Piece, in terms of who he views himself the most as, is Shanks. Luffy is Shanks' protege, and Oda's idea of what a "king" should be.

So, the character inheriting Shanks' legacy, Luffy, has had the most interaction with the opposite sex with Nami.

Nami is Oda's favorite women in the series, IMO, hence him literally marrying a woman who cosplayed as Nami.

Based off all of this, from Oda's perspective, I believe he ships Luffy and Nami.

Why even create Pudding if Sanji is meant for Nami?

Pudding and Sanji actually love each other. Sanji forgave and accepted all the worst parts of Pudding, and treats her like an actual person, when Sanji is generally useless around women. Pudding and Sanji's plotlines are completely linked regarding them despising their family situations and their parent's dominance over them, and hiding who they really are in order to succeed. Pudding pretended to be evil, when, deep down, she's a kind, loving person. Sanji pretended to not be Germa, because he was terrified deep in his heart that someday he'd become LIKE Pudding was in Whole Cake, like a heartless murderer who has given up on their own dreams and is willing to casually murder for his family.

Boa's love for Luffy is CLEARLY a gag. Does she love him? Yeah, but, Luffy just DOES NOT reciprocate those feelings.

Luffy x Boa shippers confound me, there is NOTHING there.

Between Oda's Shanks wank, simping for Nami, and Luffy being Shanks' protege, LuNa has by far the most momentum behind it.

We just won't get any romance until the crew is officially disbanded, like the Roger Pirates were. Which is good, IMO. I'm fine with Oda handling romance at the EOS.

Zoro and Hiyori aren't getting together, BTW; Zoro x Tashigi (Kissing Shimotsuki Cousins).

I'm warming up to Hiyori x Yamato as a crackship (This is moHiyori loves strong Samurai). The reactions would be WILD.

What in the holy nonsense is this?
If you claim that he ships Luffy because he interacts with Nami the most then basically almost every male strawhat interacts with nami more than any other girl.
Usopp? Not Kaya but Nami
Sanji? Not Pudding but Nami
Zoro? Not hiyori but nami
flawed logic.

Same shit about reciprocating feelings. He's not reciprocating any feelings towards Nami as well.
Goofy is not someone who shows romance. Oda is writing Goofy as a sexless protagonist like Goku who does not show love that doesn't mean he wouldn't reciprocate Hancock's obsession just like Goku did with chi chi.
