This was very insightful, I think I finally understand you. No wonder you're always acting so haughty in the company of these WG members. This is how you interpet and internalize their negativity against One Piece, if the critique really is this shallow and self-defeating then you'd have a right to ride that high-horse.

I empathize with you, we have a few things in common. Except I'm an arm-chair literary scholar on Naruto, not One Piece.

It's not reciprocal

Really ?

Let's see our last discussion :

How am I so hard to be nice with here ?

Hmm...

Good point !

:kata:

But.. I agree with you guyz now ! One Piece is bad !

Look at all the good points I made about the problems in One Piece !

:josad:

I have Karen on the line, she is asking where you find the hypocrisy.. Should I tell her to call later ?

> I never hold to illegitimate expectations

Oh come on ! I worked so hard to really humble myself to criticize One Piece too !

:josad:

I saw the light ! I want to be part of the group too ! I swear I changed and I really tried to take a REAL look at One Piece and people here are right !

ONE PIECE IS TRASH
How was it illegitimate to expect Carrot to get her revenge on Perospero, rather than have him randomly be pawned off to Neko?

It's peculiar that was basically him trying to bait that made you said this.

2. Your bait sucks
Do they ?
:michalaugh:

I assume it's because this is the only place that hasn't banned him immediately like ArlongPark did, and gets him engagement. Sad to see netherless.
To be fair, this entire forum would get banned from Arlongpark rather quickly. Apparently they’ve been down for a year due to having banned so many people that one of them got mad and sent some kinda shit on the forum that blocked it from functioning. If Redon wasn’t posting his spoilers there sometimes, BanPark Forum would already be dead.

It's crazy that it is a Naruto fan that managed to understand and break the curse of Illogiko out of all people (aside from a few ones that saw through it).

It's quite revealing.

I'll analyze that later in the sensitive section. A lot of interesting things happened on this thread.

All this because people got the audacity to have their own subjective opinions about a fictional comic book. Never seen someone so opposed to freedom of thought and choice.
Van is confusing here the freedom to speak and the freedom of consequences.

No one in the room is opposed to the freedom to think or speak negatively, proof being, Illogiko did it himself.. What I wish is for people to understand the consequences of this negativity. And create an environment where people will want to be more positive instead... From their OWN volition.

But I get that it is hard to understand the nuance.

Uncle Van

Bullets don't hurt. But Taxes do.
No matter what nonsense you do, nobody is gonna be forced to speak positive about something they were disappointed in. If they believe Egghead wasn't a good arc, it is their right and opinion to think such. It's not on you to deem it negative and decide that it needs to be changed. No one is gonna take seriously the words of a hypocrite.

Peace.

Indeed. The purpose is not to force anyone. If you think that it is, you still do not understand what I propose.

You have your battles, I have mines. I'll try to change what I think needs to change.

Again. You say that word a lot without ever explaining how I'm actually just that. I'm quite a straight forward guy. And I don't wanna brag but in term of values, coherency and cohesion, I'm quite strong. So....

Why do you think Carrot not being the one to defeat Perospero was good writing?
I've explained that multiple time in the Nakama thread back in the days.

Carrot's journey is all about a few thematics:

- Wonder
- The discovering of the sea and it's danger
- Loss of innocence
- Inherited Will

Carrot is a young girl who was completely naive about the sea and her place in the world. Once she made the choice to join Luffy, she discovered a lot of wonder and a lot of danger. She loved every part of it even after the loss of her father figure.

The problem is that Carrot didn't understood the lesson fully and rushed toward danger in the thought to avenge Pedro. This is something that has been teased already in whole cake against Brulee or Katakuri. Carrot is like Luffy, she doesn't think, she rushes. But she is much more naive and was too confident in her own capacities. So, she underestimated her opponent and overestimate her power against Perospero.

She lost, logically. Nekomamushi is not all that, he understand the danger and his capacities.

Now.. Why was she the one to lose ?

Well simple : She needed to lose to understand REALLY that her power are not infinite and that the war is not a playgame but a real danger. This lose and humiliation was Oda telling Carrot that she needs to grow, make a choice in her life and stop seeing the sea just like a fairfest. The sea is both wonderous and dangerous.

Through this loss, Carrot lost the innocent part of her that prevented her to mature into a ruler and possibily a more important character later.

This loss makes perfect sence for her.
