Well, Vegapunk is meant to be killed.... in all organizations there is a traitor, Vergo, X Drake, Robin, etc.

This has been shown since the beginning. So Vegapunk surviving and trying to escape, surely is gonna make the traitor look for ways he could die.

This is simple, I don't think it is relevant for the story to know who it is, it is just for the main story as overall.
