Mihawk doesn't have to do shit to be above Shanks as long as he holds the WSS title. He's the WSS because he already did the shit that he's supposed to do to be over Shanks. It's just that we haven't seen it yet. We'll eventually see why he's the WSS just like how we got to see why Shanks is a Yonko in the recent chapters. You just have to wait.

Kaido didn't show anything until we got to Wano fights, but we do know for a fact he was stronger than everyone because the author decided to give him the WSC title. If the writer calls him WSS, then he makes him one because that's what his intentions are with the character. He'll show the appropriate feats when the time comes. We, as readers, can't do anything besides wait for more feats. You can't go around making definite conclusions when only one side has feats. That's like saying Katakuri's stronger than Rocks because the former has more feats. We know how dumb that argument is.

It's either they were dead equals, or WB was slightly superior. I don't think there's anything that suggests Roger was stronger other than the headcanon that he was weakened due to his sickness.

Roger was never above WB. And Shanks has been below Mihawk ever since he lost his arm, which is why Mihawk's the WSS despite their rivalry. You're essentially going against the author's words to shit on Mihawk while accusing us of being fanboys. The irony is that you don't even see the hypocrisy in it lmao.

We have multiple manga statements claiming Whitebeard = Roger. Then we found out that Whitebeard had his WSM title when he was alive, and we saw him clashing equally with Roger without the use of his fruit.
So Whitebeard >= Roger is much more supported in the manga than Roger > Whitebeard. Since you agree that Shanks and Mihawk are a reflection of Roger and Whitebeard, then Mihawk >= Shanks should sound reasonable to you.
