Not to hate on my boy Kuzan here but Oda legit had them portrayed as peers in that scene. Kuzan even had a freebie and Doffy instantly broke out and was laughing at him, hands-in-pocket while leaving the scene. Doffy was not shitting his pants, that was Doffy throwing shit at Kuzan’s face then backing off while laughing.

Doffy broke out right before Kuzan could freeze him to his core. Nothing about Kuzan’s past and future actions show that he goes easy when it comes to freezing people. Literally Robin, the little girl he looks over almost died because he didn’t go easy on her

If he was frozen to the bone, he wouldn't free himself
His crewmate wouldn't be lucky he wasn't frozen to the bone
