Valuing Killer for DC is like valuing Usopp for lethality, that's not his speciality.
What puts him above pre TS villains? His fight with Zoro and his assault at Kaido's neck are enough for that, and this is just the start

Zoro didn't use COA to defend when he was hit by Killer too. Are we going to complain about how characters didn't use Haki every time a character is hit without getting a chance to defend with COA? Lmao stop making up lame reasons to justify your Zoro hate my man.

For what it's shown so far I think Kidd , Killer and Zoro could damage Kaido but not really on the lvl of really damaging him like the scabbards.

Only Luffy with his Internal Haki and probably Law with his Gamma Knife could I see them being able inflicting real damage to Kaido for now.

Even then Kaido is Tank with an abnormal recovery rate, so even if he somehow end up really hurt he'll get up real quick like last chapter.
