Starting next month, for the first time in my whole life I will be traveling outside of the U.S.A.

I will be visiting Italy, Spain, and Turkey.

For anyone who lives in any of those three countries or for anyone who has visited, what is it like over there?

Is there any specific food I should try? What about the desserts? Also a bit of a weird question but when it comes to the public restrooms what are they like? And finally is there anything that I should be careful about?

I have visited Rome and Venice in Italy and Barcelona in Spain. Italy and Spain both have some of the best tourist attractions in the world. We tried a local pizza and pasta in Italy which were total crap, dont try any local cuisine from hot tourist spots, they are a complete rip-off. I liked the paella in Bacelona and we tried some tapas (I cant remember the names anymore). I would say both countries are quite safe for a tourist.

I had a plan to visit Turkey and ride the hot air balloons in Cappadocia. Unfortunately, that plan hasn't materialized.

I have visited Italy a couple times, but what part of it are you going to? Vastly different answers based on what parts you’re visiting.

Where are you going in Italy? If you’re going North go to Portofino, Cinque Terre.

Also go to Amalfi Coast and Sorrento just to experience it

Considering you're from the USA, it will feel like a whole different world, the major difference is food, so try to get as much as you want, especially in Turkey since they have kinda similar cuisine to arabs, and Arab food is top tier imo, spicy and diverse compared to other countries.
Italy is common for Pasta and Pizza too.
Also stay away from Tourist hotspots if you want to buy food or clothes, Tourist scams are very common in Europe, otherwise Tourist hotspots are great places to meet people from different parts of the world.
