Random thought just crossed my mind while shotgunning it during a road trip. Am I the only one who breaks down arcs in a way that the Wiki and One Piece fandom does not?
For example, I definitely would differentiate between the Water 7 and the Sea Train Arc. There was a definite start and finish to the latter and I’ve always found it strange that the Sea Train is lumped in with Water 7 and/or Enies Lobby.
I also believe there’s a definite split between the Wano Arc and the Onigaishima Arc, in a similar vein to Water 7 and Enies Lobby.
In my view, Wano began with Chapter 909 “Seppuku” and concluded with Chapter 793 “The Kozuki Family”. With the Onigashima Arc starting with Chapter 794 “Onward to Onigashima!!” to present.
My reasoning for breaking down the aforementioned arcs like I do is due to the feeling of completeness that comes with an arc in One Piece and the conclusion of the “Kozuki Flashback” really brought home the central themes of Wano for me. With Onigashima, I feel as though the themes and narrative of Wano is continuing but it is being portrayed in a different way than what we got on mainland Wano.
Of course, overall I view the Wano Arc as comprising both the plots of Wano and Onigashima yet I view their intertwined plots in the same way the mainstream might view W7/Enies Lobby and Impel Down/Marineford.
So, am I crazy or does anyone else break down the One Piece arcs in a way that’s different from the mainstream?
Let me know your thoughts.
