General & Others Underused characters

In tour opinion which One Piece characters were or are not as used well and often enough in the story despite having interesting powers, personnalities and/or potential ?

I feel that most of the Whitebeard Pirates commanders, marine VAs and allies of WB weren't used well and often enough as they should have been.
I also think that Cracker, Smoothie, Tamago, Snack, Compote and Bobbin were really underused and not treated very well during WCI arc and that Law's crew should have been more present and useful during Zou arc and the beggining of Wano arc.

Smoothie wins this in a spite. YC2-3 level character left barely breathing.

Perospero is an arc antagonist that never got his time to shine. His power is pretty creative and unique, versatile and dangerous, and he's absolutely sour in personality. The most threatening moments of WCI were when Perospero is revealed to have survived the suicide bombing of Pedro, then is the conduit which allows Big Mom to continue her rampages across her empire.

I could easily see someone like Perospero replacing Caesar as the head bad guy of Punk Hazard (Caesar obviously still being there,) and getting enough exclusive attention to be a more memorable character and a better challenge for the main characters.

Monet is someone who I wish was kept around, even as a hostage for an arc or something. But Smoker/Tashigi come to mind.

I’ll be the first schmuck to say any non L/Z/S Straw Hat Pirate after the timeskip. Now that we’ve gotten THAT out of the way...

Urouge and Bonney are now the only Supernovae we’ve haven’t seen in extended action, I would really dig both of them coming into play soon. We haven’t even seen Greenbull or Vegapunk yet when both of the are mentioned to the point of exhaustion (the latter in the canon, the former on this forum). Any vice admiral that isn’t Garp or Smoker...actually, scratch that second one, he’s been in at least four different arcs and I still haven’t gotten enough of him.

A good chunk of Big Mom pirates got very little screen time, and I would have liked to see more from them. Did Charlotte Compote even do anything besides just stand around? Maybe they'll be a little more active in Wano?

Also Jinbei; he's a Strawhat now and has been left out so far. I feel like he's going to miss out on a chunk of the Wano arc if he doesn't show up soon. :catcry:

Yeah I also feel like Nico Robin has been very underused since post skip happened

Her devil fruit potential is amongst the bests in the pot and yet he didn't have a valid challenge yet. She just embarrassed Hakuba Cavendish.

Robin and Chopper.

Those two need to be used in better ways. It pains me to see those two be like:

- Chopper: Fangasming over the SH members and what they can do, and just act and dance in silly manners. And waste his "supposedly strongest form, Monster point" on freaking Kids in Punk Hazard, or getting captured by seducing woods! It's stupid

- Robin: Fufufufufu

That's all she does basically

Robin.
she went from soloing the SH to decent to irrelevance.

more clutch please.
its too satisfying.

I get it Oda. its too lame. will not happen.
she just stands there crossing her arms and one shots.
Maybe she will also have a decent fight this one arc

My dream is she gets to fight a commander and unlocks her haki in the middle of the fight. I'm particularly optimistic.

Straw Hats - they're essentially Luffy cheerleaders and nothing more these days.
Marines - I would love to see more of what they're like when they're not coming into conflict with the SHs. Besides more interactions between their fellow Marines, which are usually great reading, I'd like to see how they and the rest of the world feel about the organization since Akainu became Fleet Admiral.
Revolutionaries - tbh, I don't really care about them, but they could have been so much better. I sometimes wonder why Oda put them in; idk how to put it, but they don't really fit in the series, or feel like a last minute or thrown in decision by Oda.

Toki is now the champion of underused characters in One Piece imo, she had so much potential during Oden's flashback thanks to her unique connection to the Void Century but Oda didn't exploit it and she was relegated to just being Oden's wife.
I have a feeling we'll learn more about Toki when Oda digs deeper into the Void Century. To reveal anything about that part of her life now will just spoil what went on back then. But it does make you wonder if Oden ever asked her about it after he found out about the true history of the World.
