Who among the thousands of characters created by Oda in One Piece hasn't been used as much as he/she could have been exploited and had or has more potential than that ?
Also, Franky is a cyborg that can LITERALLY SHOOT LASER BEAMS, and he’s all but receded into the background since he went missing for most of Punk Hazard.
Nah, the straw hats aside from chopper and robin are fine. They have good moments. There are a lot of characters and luffy is still the mc so of course overall oda has to use him as the magnet in the story.
But zoro will shine in this arc, so will sanji, law, kidd and others.

Congrats on finally reaching Influential status! Luffy IS the MC, and we all love him for it, but it’d be nice to see other characters shine sometimes...especially his crew, who definitely got more to do per arc pre-timeskip than they do now

Thank you. Didn't even notice it.
I think they will in this arc since the previous ones were set up arcs for this one.
But if you look at it closer, in dressrosa, franky, usopp and zoro had big moments.
In WCI, it was jimbei, brook, nami. Even sanji had some character development.
In zou you could say it was chopper's time.
Wano will be their time to shine in combat.

You’re right about all of that, but it still feels like they were the Straw Hat Pirates before the skip, and Luffy and the SHP after. I realize the plot has advanced far enough that we won’t get any/much more focus on their goofy interactions as we hurtle towards the end, so I guess I’m just nostalgic for a time that’s firmly in the past...

I can understand that, I miss some of these moments too, seems like the last time we had that was in thriller bark.
Now the story is more about affecting the one piece world than just their adventures.
They are not relevant enough to have more time so no. We had lots of interactions between marines and the straw hats. We saw enough of the revolutionary army and they will get their arc.
But again they are side stories, seeing them more means seeing less of the actual story which would be a spin off basically.
Hina is so fucking cool, has a seemingly effective DF, and might be the most intriguing female Marine...and yet, we’ve only ever seen her twice? Three times?

Beyond that, though, the good marines in general could use some more use. I think Coby's growth could've been more believable if we saw a few more scenes here or there depicting his growth.
