Speculations Urouge might be a Holy Knight or a candidate.

We are fast approaching EoS, and so far Oda has pretty much utilized ever member of the Supernova in some way or another throughout the post skip.

He's had a tendency of bringing these characters back, slightly before the time in the story that they are going to be most relevant.

So I was thinking about Urouge and what role he could possibly play in the upcoming story, and it kind of dawned on me, that we just got introduced to the "Holy Knights" and Urouge, is a Holy man.

Now back during Medieval Times it wasn't uncommon for knight candidates, or even Knights themselves to undergo a Pilgrimage, as a way to prove they are worthy of thier role.

What if that is what Urouge is doing now, and what all members of the the Holy Knights must go through to earn thier rank?

I mean, think about it. How are they supposed to prove they are strong enough to protect the likes of the Gorosei and Im, if they have no real battle experience under thier belt? What better way than to send them on a Pilgrimage to see if they can survive making it through a set path through the Grand line? All Holy Knights must undergo this process to prove they are worthy.

And it does fit for Urouge to possibly be connected to the Celestial Dragons, as he is a Skypiean after all. They are known for Worshipping tangible God's, so the Celestial Dragons choosing devote worshippers to be their Holy Knights makes sense. If Oda plans on actually making the Holy Knights relevant, I think this would be a good way of giving them development.

The issue with proposing people like Urouge, Enel, etc. as Holly Knights is that these knights are supposed to intercede in conflicts between Celestial Dragons according to Sakazuki; and we all know that no inferior human is receiving the slightest authority in such conflicts; this is also why the Holly Knights are needed as a different group from CP0 and the Admirals: because these two groups can bodyguard, but never, ever intercede as arbitrators.

The Holly Knights must be Celestials themselves. Simple as that.

In theory, yes, unless they are given authority on behalf of the Gorosei. Something like "Their decision is our decision" type of deal. Their roll is not to boss around the Celestial Dragons, but rather resolve the conflict in those cases.

And not for nothing, but the Holy Knights should be a branch of the Royal Guard, just the highest ranked ones, and we saw the Celestial Dragons bossing the Royal Guards around.

I feel that Urouge would be enslaved, cause I doubt that the Holy Knights of other species other then humans. Could be a former slave who fell from Birka only to end in the Celestial's hands and managed to escape. Perhaps he shows the StrawHats or BlackBeard pirates a secret route into the Mary Geoise.

Yeah I'm of the mind that they're CDs themselves. Likely the Gorosei were also Holy Knights in the past.

P.S. I've been on the Shanks is a CD bandwagon for almost a decade at this point. Him meeting in secret with the Gorosei lends credence to him being one of them as well.
