We are fast approaching EoS, and so far Oda has pretty much utilized ever member of the Supernova in some way or another throughout the post skip.
He's had a tendency of bringing these characters back, slightly before the time in the story that they are going to be most relevant.
So I was thinking about Urouge and what role he could possibly play in the upcoming story, and it kind of dawned on me, that we just got introduced to the "Holy Knights" and Urouge, is a Holy man.
Now back during Medieval Times it wasn't uncommon for knight candidates, or even Knights themselves to undergo a Pilgrimage, as a way to prove they are worthy of thier role.
What if that is what Urouge is doing now, and what all members of the the Holy Knights must go through to earn thier rank?
I mean, think about it. How are they supposed to prove they are strong enough to protect the likes of the Gorosei and Im, if they have no real battle experience under thier belt? What better way than to send them on a Pilgrimage to see if they can survive making it through a set path through the Grand line? All Holy Knights must undergo this process to prove they are worthy.
And it does fit for Urouge to possibly be connected to the Celestial Dragons, as he is a Skypiean after all. They are known for Worshipping tangible God's, so the Celestial Dragons choosing devote worshippers to be their Holy Knights makes sense. If Oda plans on actually making the Holy Knights relevant, I think this would be a good way of giving them development.
