Using AI to make creative products

And you're feeding your creativity to the a i. on top of using other people's work. You're allowing a corporation to use your creativity for free because you want the result to be comparable to other work of other people. Therefore your use of a i seems to be driven by ego.

Were they asked?

Sure if you use the word inferior from a perspective of artist powerscaling ranking art for its perceived quality or esthetics.
A flawed work of a human being will always be superior than a superficially perfect looking clean a i work without soul. I bet you also watch a i slop yt videos

Are you paying the people whose art was used to train the a i? Is a a i a person? Do you also personify and talk to your spoon, table, fridge? Do you want labor laws for things?
What ai is it? For research purposes

I think it’s fine if you write the rough draft of the plot, create the characters and the world and setting and just use it to formulate your ideas into proper sentences. Many people actually just write a script and have somebody else do the proper writing. But it’s not fine to let the AI make everything for you in my opinion. Nothing is legally stopping you as long as you have the rights for the AI usage ofc, but from an ethical point of view it would be the AI‘s story and not yours.

We must not forget that the writing of a story is just as much storytelling as the outlining or the characters or every other elements.

At worse I'd say it's ok to do a spellcheck to prevent a work from having errors of grammar or wording etc.. but everything else is problematic, not only ethically but it also prevent us from understanding how things work in the first place.

I wouldn’t go that far. Sometimes people have genuinely great ideas or very creative minds and just lack the skills to put those into sentences and much creativity is lost. AI is just a simple way to correct that. It’s like saying you’re only a song writer if you make both the music and the text (which obviously isn’t true). Ofc it’s much better to hire another person to write stuff for you, but that is also expensive these days and many can’t afford that. If money isn’t an issue and if you have enough time to practice and learn some skills, then sure your way is the best one. But if you are a passionate and creative person and money and time are in your way then AI is a decent option to fix that.

And just to be clear, I‘m somebody who writes stories and songs completely by herself if I decide to dedicate some of my free time to that, but I also acknowledge that AI is a helpful tool that helps people fulfill their dreams (even though I personally dislike it and prefer pouring my own skills in what I do).

I also agree, this is why sometimes I also think working with someone else is ok.

Then there are fivers for that at the very least. But an IA can't replace that skill, not yet at least.

I'm sorry but a passionate person do not rely on AI to do 20% of the work, they either ask to people around them to help, ask a fiver, or at the very least try to learn the skill, or just wait for the opportunity. Especially when they know that AI are trained on other's work.

At best they can be corrected on the very minor things by AI (and even then, I've tested, it's dull). But to write for them, or draw or compose..

But hey, people do what they want. Until there is a crisis...
