Good example of Vergo's haki

If we look at this panel where Tashigi blocks Zoro you can see that it produces the same sfx of metals clashing as when Vergo blocks Tashigi. When Vergo blocks it features 3 exclamation marks, and by comparison 2 exclamation marks are shown when Tashigi blocks Zoro

First we need to discuss or think about what it is that makes up the characteristic ringing sound of metal objects clashing. It has to do with many things such as the stiffness of the object, the way it propagates the energy inside the material which depends on the atomic structure. In something softer like wood most of the energy gets absorbed and turned into heat, which is why you get a typical thud as opposed to a ringing clink. Steel is much stiffer and it’s atomic structure allows for the pressure wave to transmit in order for air molecules to vibrate with a higher pitch.

There is also a phenomenon known as resonance that is important in our discussion. If you remember some high school physics, everything, every object has a tendency to oscillate (vibrate) at a certain given frequency. This is called the natural frequency. It’s at this frequency that greater amplification can be achieved when you prod the system just the right way to oscillate at this frequency. This amplification is called resonance

When you pluck the strings on an acoustic guitar, the sound energy is transmitted into a hollow wooden box, and there it experiences resonance and subsequent amplification to make it a lot louder. On an electric guitar this oscillation is instead electromagnetic, and it a sent to an amplifier that then sends it to a speaker, and the awful ringing you hear when it experiences too much resonance is called audio feedback (If your ever been in a music studio).

This is the phenomenon that would result when Zoro and Tashigi clashes. Tashigi we learn uses armament haki, ie not hardening which is the black coating. However, Zoro comments that she doesn’t have any “will to fight” and we know haki is the physical manifestation of one’s willpower, so it outright says not only that Tashigi puts in less effort than Zoro, she uses no haki in that clash (nether does Zoro who uses hardening). Zoro and Tashigi both use the same type of grade swords. Them clashing their swords does produce resonance

Against Vergo she puts in maximum effort and haki, so the amount of force generated from this clash is a lot higher (as such should produce a louder clink or ringing sound).

However, Tashigi is stopped dead in her track. She is seen falling over from the impact, as she is seen tilting in the air (this is also how much stronger Vergo is to Zoro). It’s like me hitting a brick wall with a fork versus hitting a another metal object that gives rise to a vibration as opposed to just a collision.

When Zoro and Tashigi clash there is resonance occurring.

Vergo’s arm is coated but the rest of his body that is connected to it should lessen the sound a lot (dampen it) such as his clothes. Vergo is no resonance box like a guitar.

The reason why the clash was that much louder is because Vergo’s haki is that fucking tough and stiff
The panels were gone but you refer to these events

Well then it makes no sense why King vs Zoro doesn’t have the same sound effect when King blocks with his le
