Hello everyone welcome

I was arguing with a few fine gentleman on the sub about Wano being Zoros arc or not, And i decided to make a post on why i personally think it is.

Wano is Zoro's Arc similar to how whole cake island was Sanji's Arc and here is why:

1. Zoro has a direct connection to Wano before any other straw hat. The shimotsuki village where Zoro grew and trained in is founded by Wano descendants.

2. Zoro could be a Shimotsuki himself there is alot of hints towards this but the obvious one is Zoro being a resident of the Shimotsuki village. I am pretty sure we will know in this arc the same way we knew about Sanjis lineage in WCI.

3. Zoro had a connection to Wano another time after, When he met Ryuma's Corpse

* Ryuma is a splitting image of zoro
This is no coincidence IMO, This was intentional by Oda so people make the connection. Yet again Zoro has a specials connection here that no other SH has.

* Ryuma Zoro and oden are all connected via many parallels. I will not dwell into this too much because we can talk about the many parallels all day. but i will mention some. - Ryuma 1 sword- Oden 2 swords- Zoro 3 swords. Not a coincidence. All 3 are connected by this one aswell.

* Ryuma game shusui to Zoro. Zoro had stayed with Zoro until the sword found it way back to Wano country. Shusui stayed with zoro for more than 500 chapters. Zoro brought shusui a national treasure back to the people of wano.

4. Zoro Received Enma, The sword that cut kaido, The sword that inherited Odens will to cut down kaido. This is not a coincidence that Zoro was given the sword. If plot needed luffy could have got it and zoro could have been given any other sword, Or maybe stayed with shusui, Giving Zoro Enma is important to highlight that this is Zoro's Arc, And that Zoro will be the star of the arc.

5. Zoro and Odens connection. Wont go too deep into this, But will just say that Zoro had many interactions with Odens daughter herself. Hiyori. He saved her and literally stayed in her place for days. Zoro Inherited his will via Enma this is very important because Oden is a Wano hero.

6. Zoro had many 1v1 fights in his own in wano. He fought 3 super novas.(fought hawkins killer and apoo), clashed with kyoshiro and others.

7. Zoro kills the magistrate in the first chapter of Wano. The first chapter of Wano arc was literally a Zoro hype chapter, A chapter centered around Zoro.

8. Zoro is fighting not one but two yanko in this Arc, Not only that but hes doing significant damage in fact you can argue hes doing the most damage so far against Kaido.

9. Zoro has a a personal feud with Kaido. Yes zoro fought main characters he fought Hody and cut down Morgan when he fought him with Zoro.
But this Arc is different. Because Zoro has a personal feud with Zoro. When Zoro swore revenge on Orochi like when Oden swore revenge on orochi he decided to kill Kaido. That was because he knew that by taking Kaido out he will destroy Orochi and cut the problem from its roots. For the first time in one piece, Zoro actually has a personal feud with a main antagonist.

* Zoro came on his own will not just for his captain. This is not him being there for his captain. This is him being there for himself.

10. When Sanji went to WCI Zoro went to Wano indicating that WCI was Sanji's Arc, And that Wano will be Zoro's Arc

11. Zoro had alot of interaction with the Wano citizens more than any other straw hat.

12. The back ground and story of Wano country, The samuari, the swords, These all fit perfectly with Zoro background story.

13. When Luffy decided to go to WCI, He told Zoro to take a group and go to Wano, Zoro Was leading that group to wano and was the first to get there before Luffy and the other group.

Thanks for reading.

NO NO NO NO NO NO
YOU CAN'T HAVE WANO AS XORO'S ARC.
THIS IS NOT XORO'S ARC.
TOO LATE. TOO BAD.
NO TAKEBACKS.

ODA HAS TO SAY IT FOR IT TO BE TRUE.

Trolling aside, good thread @ZoroSlaysDragonTuna
And you are right, there are at least 25 Zoro/Oden Parallels.
And Oda does not have to come out of his way to say this is Zoro's arc.
It would come off a bit nationalistic and contrived.
Thank you

Zoro's family and past is deeply connected to the country of Wano, he's taken on three supernovas, is foreshadowed to kill the main villain and has the second most amount of panel time. It is THE Zoro arc. Denying it would be like saying that Elbaf isn't going to be an Usopp arc just because Oda didn't specifically say so.

Edit: High quality post and amazing username.

Luffy's the most important Straw Hat in literally every single arc, even WCI.
You can make the argument that so far Zoro has been the most important SH, will that change later on? Maybe maybe not. But point still stands the main focus at least so far has been Zoro. Yes other people shined and will shine. But Zoro has been the major focus of Wano even before Wano started and until this point.

I would say that Zoro has just been getting all the good moments. Meeting Oden's Prostitute Daughter, Yasuie, Clashing with Kyoshiro, Fighting Hawkins, Killer and Appo, Enma, reuniting with Sanji and the rooftop battle. Kind of Like Brook in WCI, Usopp in Dressrosa and Nami in PH. Meanwhile Luffy only really has the O-Tama and Hyogoro/Prison plotlines and the less said about O-Tama, the better.

Luffy clashed (lost) with kaido,
Brought most of the samurais together due to the prison outbreak, learnt adv coa.
