Current Events Wano Wishlist?

So with this last chapter, we officially began the war (though this will probably be many chaprers of skirmishes and moving the plot). What are your wishlists for rest of the arc?

Here's mine:

- An extensive Rocks flashback involving Kaido, Linlin, and the Rocks Pirates. Yamato's flashback is part of this altogether. Kaido and the Numbers having ties to Vegapunk and Punk Hazard with Gigantifcation (Kid mentions the Numbers are bigger than regular giants, why?)

- Jinbe and Zoro receiving smaller flashbacks during the arc. I do think Jinbe's scar is significant to his character and I suspect Sasaki is central to that. Zoro has ties to Wano and they haven't been explained yet.

- The Numbers are all zoan users with varying degrees of strength.

- The Big Mom Pirates being heavily involved in the War. My guess is Oda is leaving them out to not bloat the initial battles, but they will join later, possibly via the secret Hakumai entrance. Smoothie, Campote, Daifuku, Peros and Snack all should have big moments/defeats during the War.

- On that idea is the alliance losing somehow or the Onigashima battles being relocated to Wano and the Flower Capital.

- Orochi and Kanjuro having more to do with the arc, I liked their powers. Perhaps Orochi has an entirely different threat/plot up his sleeve.

- Hotei and Fukurokuju being treated as at least F6 level threats that can have decent battles.

- Onigashima's relevance being explained with the history of Wano. Why is the head there? Why is Wano's geography the way it is? What was Onigashima's original name?

- Every Strawhat and the other 6 Supernova having significant moment's in the arc. If this is the moment where a Yonko goes down, everyone needs focus. Im sure the scabbards will have theirs come the next few chapters.

- Every fight feeling like a significant accomplishment. All big moments after said villain as been characterized enough.

- Other parties joining the War. Former Rocks pirates? Former WB or Roger Pirates? Who is the striped coat man in Chapter 666 meeting with Crocus? Will Hancock team up with Koby and join Drake? Will they help Luffy?

I just wish we won't get anymore flashbacks. Those chapters drain the life out of me. I hate it when Oda cuts a fight to show some long ass flashback. I hope we are done with those. If we gone get flashbacks, I hope they will be the couple of pages kind.

Its going to very likely happen.

Dressrosa had 4 different flashbacks

- One told by the Dwarfs to Franky/Zoro about Dressrosa
- DRs real flashback once sugar was knocked out and it involved Kyros
- Law's massive flashback (like 9 chapters)
- Doflamingo's flashback (2 chapters)


WCI even had 2, one for Sanji and one for BM.

So far we've only gotten 1 true flashback for Oden (technically 2 if you count Kawamatsu's flashback with Hiyori). Kaido is every likely to have something regarding Rocks and BM. Theres history there we dont know. If Yamato is a potential crew member, then her flashback with Kaido and subsequently, Ace, will happen.

Zoro has been primed for some history with Wano and it hasn't been shown yet. Jinbe's is just a personal desire to give him more background/motivation. However the rest are entirely warranted.

I expect Kaido/Yamato's to be significantly long (4-5 chapters), but stuff like Zoro or Jinbe can be shown in a chapter.


Oda normally explains everything about his characters, just be prepared for it.

- Drake, Sanji and marine interaction with a stealth mission for Sanji
- King bounty being 1.33 billion
- Franky and Chopper unlocking at least CoA
- Robin unlocking CoO and Robin vs Black Maria
- Sanji vs Queen or King even with help showed until his conclusion. The fight ends with a 1 vs 1
- Big Mom goes somewhere else
- Kaido's flashback only after the end of all the other fights. Kaido is the only enemy left (Big Mom is not in Onigashima)
- Law's death
- Moriah kills Kaido and Burgess eats his fruit (or Marco's one)

-solid fights for the nine main Beast Pirate enemies. I don't really care if they are one vs ones or not, who beats them, just give me what we got in Dressrosa, at least one chapter for the TR, two for the Calamities, the usual big finale for Kaido

-I don't want the Big Mom Pirates to show up again. I don't care about them, they don't have anything to do with the arc and will just unnecessarily stretch it out. If I never see Daifukum Snack or Smoothie have a real fight it would not bother me in the slightest

-the idea that we need a total defeat for "a tragedy", "because Hawkins predicted a month" or "it's too easy" is awful. Does not need to happen at all. Get the overwhelming majority of the fights done here, have Kaido batter everyone senseless then at the most Kaido and King can move to the mainland since they can fly.

-all the Strawhats to get a moment to shine. They don't need to take down a TR or a Calamity per se, but just give something big that shows they are ready to make the step up with Luffy

-CP-0 to do some sneaky shit, maybe with the not-so-dead Orochi

-Zoro, Kid, Law and all the Red Scabbards to play some kind of role in the defeat of Kaido.

-One dead Scabbard.

-Yamato to have a flashback that makes her more interesting than just another Oden fangirlboy.

-Killer to get a badass moment

-Momonosuke to step up, overcome his fear of flying and do something to help bring down Kaido and restore his family rule.

-Zoro's past with Wano not to be a massive deal, give us some more background on why he wants to be WSS (did he hear about Ryuma as a kid?) but to at least get explained in series instead of being drip-fed through SBS.

-some further developments over Wano and the Void Century. I don't expect everything to be explained yet, but I'd like it to be expanded on. Maybe find out what Uranus is through Oden's logbook?

Show Big Meme, Kaido, King, Law, Kid, Luffy, Zoro, Killer, Apoo and Hawkins fight. Off panel everything else.

If there's no time, showing Zoro alone is enough.

So one more thing:

As a huge fan of One Piece, watching the Strawhats go through this journey, the one thing I want to selfishly see the most...

I want each of the Strawhats to get their own dedicated fights. The type of fights where you can feel their conflict, their struggle, and the emotion of their success of breaking their own limits.

I want them to beat top dogs, and other powerful players to make them stand out amongst the others here.

Okay, I'm done being selfish.

Also some hint of Rocks. We aren't likely to get the main Rocks flashback of God's Valley. That will be saved for the sole remaining figure who was a key part of it- Garp. He was a main figure there, Kaido and Linlin were just subordinates. And in terms of legacy, how Rocks has effected Blackbeard (and his maybe son Shanks) is more important than his effect on the aforementioned two.

However, we are going to get a Kaido flashback, and that should at least touch on Rocks. Maybe give us out first clear view of him, let us see him speak?

I'd also like to see how Kaido picked up his crew, specifically King, Queen and Jack. That might get spread up in multiple flashbacks though, or just touched on through the characters thoughts.

Major wishes:

1That each of the Strawhats receive their own individual fights with powerful opponents either with the Tobi Roppi, Big Mom’s children or even some of the notable samurai/Orochi Oniwabashu. Preferably the Tobi Roppo, with some being tag teams.

2. That Robin’s discovery of the Onigashima Road Poneglyph is a major focus and isn’t just shoved into the end of the arc. Also I would love if Robin’s main fight was driven by her looking for the Road Poneglyph.

3. That Kaido’s flashback focuses on his childhood through his occupation of Wano, I want as much details on him as possible. I have been waiting for his flashback since Chapter 795.

4. That the minor Wano characters do not take up too much of the narrative, hopefully Oda just shows them in little skirmishes with the Beasts Pirates. Not entire chapters dedicated to them like we got in Dressrosa.

5. Just as you said @Paperchampion23, that the history of Onigashima is given at least somewhat and the connection between Kaido and the Numbers.

6. That Marines show up at the end of Wano. With the country finally liberated from Orochi and Kaido, only to be under siege by the World Government, leading directly into the central conflict of the final saga.

7. That Luffy singlehandedly (with some assistance) defeats both Kaido and Big Mom, just to prove a lot of OP


Minor wishes:

- I would love if Franky and Chopper would have a tag team fight this arc since it seems as though they are really the only fight pairing that hasn’t been used yet. Also Chopper admires all of Franky’s inventions and weapons so it would work out perfectly IMO.

-That Momonosuke controls Zunesha against Kaido during a brief struggle and Zunesha reveals that she is under the orders of the Amatsuki, not the Kozuki.

-That Zeus remains with Nami at the end of the arc and becomes a true permanent crew member, which means Big Mom won’t actually die.

I think the scabbards are getting focus now because it is inherently their arc. They may do some damage to some if the villains but in the end, yes, the series is about Pirates so once they start to lose, The Supernova, Marco and the rest of Luffys crew will all step in.

Basically its good that Oda is showing them fight now, because they'll eventually lose anyway and we'll have more focus in the characters we want to see closer to the end. I have a feeling we are gonna see a lot of scabbard action though first.
