Re-read mf Akainu saw Luffy as the same threat as Ace the son of Roger because Luffy is the son of dragon.

Also dragon has been seen in action he could eaisly be on the level of the yonkou

Akainu ignored Whitebeard and went after Luffy and Ace once they broke out. His initial role was to protect the execution platform which whitebeard attacked

Well to beat someone I think they would need to be unable to fight back at the end of exchange. Akainu was hit and he fell down a hole and got back up still in fighting shape. I suppose you could consider it a win for Wb since he didn’t go back to Wb but in another perspective you could say Akainu probably felt as if he did enough damage that Wb would die anyway and his main priority switched to chasing Luffy.

Sengoku is the guy who fought Whitebeard and has dealt with him for decades. You didn't even know what Rocks was 3 years ago. He knows far far far more than any reader about whitebeard

he cursed white beard for wrecking marine hq. akainu was still conscious and continued chasing luffy like he was before white beard hit him. akainu knew white beard was on deaths door but luffy and ace represented the threat of the new generation.

Akainu, the most sadic and bloodthirsty character in One Piece, just casually yells at Whitebeard for damaging the HQ of marines (it was Sengoku who went mad at Blackbeard for that, anyway) and take a nap for 5 minutes, instead of getting up and fight again to take the head of a "dead man walking" who was still dangerous.

Sorry, it isn't convincing and doesn't fit with the character, with the pannels, with the dynamic of the fight.

Akainu was beaten bad up by a cheap shot and a monster-attack and just was out of the scenes, it's no shame to be KO temporary if the world strongest man attacks you from behind after you have killed his son.

Akainu is cool but he's quite idolized by the powerful character-obsessed part of the fandom (not talking about you man, I don't know you) and if he lose they lose, childish way to enjoy a reading.

guys talk as if Wb had soled Akainu from the front, but Akainu was fighting Marco and wb came from behind and hit him off guard.

Yep, "unfair fight" but from the beginning, it wasn't a lone duel on a neutral island like Punk Hazard, but all Marineford is full of bias and isn't standing the test of time, it's aging quite bad but it's inevitable

he literally just did and besides garp and sengoku were still on the other side of the big hole with white beard and kizaru and aokiji were around. the other pirates and luffy were in full retreat and akainu already said he wouldnt let luffy leave alive

Even a sick and severely weakened Whitebeard was throwing Akainu around like a ragdoll.

The only reason Akainu is not dead is because Whitebeard got a Heart Attack.
