Every fight they get is offcreened or lame because some outside force comes in between the fight and bails them out, Nami was really funny when she fought Ms. double finger, chopper was smart when he fought that Medusa guy, and Usopp fights are incredible. Depriving the weak trio members of fights isn't a good narrative choice, it's a punishment and its the reason why no one WHO likes those characters wants them to stay in the weak trio

I agree, but it isn't just confined to the weak trio - Franky, Brook, and Robin need focus from time to time as well.
Before the BM fight I didn't give a shit about Robin at all. The W7 moments wore off and she became rather one-dimensional. The BM fight helped at least put her into the focus a bit and reinvigorate people's interest.
Franky had the Sasaki fight, and before that there was Senor Pink, but irl there's been YEARS between each of them.
Brook's last fight was freaking Giola. And before that the dude from FMI. He needs a fight badly.

Looks like Oda's tired of havin to think of new ways for them to beat stronger opponents. It's easier for the stronger SHs as they just have to get a PU. He better give a real opponent to Nami when the inevitable confrontation against BB's crew happens cause the way he made her defeat Ulti was pathetic.
Imo, Oda's biggest mistake was offscreening the BMP. Even if you kept everything the exact same way (BM one shotting P1, Brook helping Robin, Inu/Neko vs Jack/Pero), the BMP could have totally added to the whole raid.
- Yamato vs Smoothie could have been an easy matchup to dish after leaving Luffy/Kaido and before stopping the bomb
- Bepo fighting Snack or something via Sulong could have been cool
- Chopper fighting Daifuku in Monster form
- Brook taking on Amande after the Black Maria fight or during it
- Nami/Usopp taking on Gallette/Mont D'Or after P1/Ulti being assists from BM
- The rest of her crew falling to other named characters in randomly at different points.
Now, thats a ton of extra bloat, but I feel like the arc unironically needed ~10-15 more chapters of fighting (i.e. Awakened Queen/King/BM/Kaido) anyway. I assume he's going to use them somewhere else (possibly as allies because of Pudding), so maybe thats why he didnt use them.

Chopper and Brook will probably team up, they're by far the ones that Oda ignores the most.
Nami and Usopp could also team up again since Oda doesn't want to draw the Strawhats doing anything much less give them individual vs chapters, he prefers to draw Luffy filler or new characters eating/crying than to develop the Strawhats.
