How can you say it’s useless when Sanji would have nearly been killed by pteranodon king if not for the raid suit?

It was to fit with the Dino theme.
Beast Pirates were all just Dinos, tough, tougher and toughest. The best representation of this is Jack.

Just extra abilities I think plus his crew is zoan themed so I guess it’s just so he can be one, while also being this super special race. Another thing I believe was to parallel him with Marco; rhm to the perceived world strongest pirate, same bounty range, flying zoans, flame abilities, with their key strength being invulnerability. They both even were responsible for keeping the bulk of Big Mom’s forces out of Wano, they did it in the same manner as well, not to mention that they faced off too.

King should have been without a fruit and stayed in his disguised form, until that final attack of his was used.

With all those flames, his disguise burns off and we see he's actually "human" and not a fruit user, as we (the audience) and Zoro believed earlier.

Then we get the lunarian backstory and their crazy physiology, in the next arc from Vegapunk.

That would've been much better than that pterodactyl zoan of his, that practically did nothing for him imo

King already has wings by default thanks to his Lunarian genes, so the Pteranodon wings are practically useless and he doesn’t need them to fly

In the manga we never actually see King fly, we only see some evidence that he can fly. Any time King needs to travel any distance quickly, he transforms into his zoan form.

Pteranodon's top speeds > King's base flight speed

Likewise, his zoan wings are quite powerful, able to give him ranged slashes that can physically shove Zoro aside or shield his body.

His Lunarian fire has way more AP than the cringy lame beak attacks (confirmed by Zoro its like magma aka top tier offensive ability)

Variety.

Tempuradon is an attack that mimics a laser, as Karyudon are flames that mimic magma.

This makes Tempuradon faster on launch and unable to be blocked by any defense.

Plus his durability is already high due to the Lunarian flames, so the Ancient Zoan isn’t really helping here either

It boosts his Speed Mode stats. Likewise, his hybrid form is monstrously strong, especially in the arm/wing area.

Not to mention how it looks ugly af

Only enhances his phyisical abilities when he’s in hybrid or beast mode, and King’s preferred mode is his base form

Kaido and Ulti have unironically proven that even outside of hybrid their durability/endurance is enhanced
His physical capabilities improve while he’s actually using the fruit
