Controversial What bothers you about this flashback?

Honestly I don't like Shakky being the reason linking all these characters together, I guess Oda wants to keep it short not showing other things because this is the God Valley flashback. It looks like Shakky is an extra plot being integrated into this supposedly a violent pirate era, it's to make it seems there are peaceful time while powerful individuals constantly fight for glory. But I am happy Xebec is redeemed, he is the main character in this flashback after all.

This flashback also shows Garp as an angry gym couch who was trying to catch his trainee lacking.

The world government didn't give two f**ks about Roger because Xebec had completely overshadowed him.

nothing bothers me

even the shakky thing is funny for me and paints roger more of a scallywag than a good boy, i mean to be a pirate you a jerk or else you sink.

Also in the end shakky aint the sole reason and a nod to the everyone knows helen of troy. Love and Horny killed much more irl lmao

i'm pleasant surprised on how rocks turns out, aside oda giving him the same face syndrome of doing a o.O face. Cool characters and is funny seeing the old gens acting

also not on flashback but....

KOZUKI MORIA

Roger to be honest. The man is pitiful and kinda a scumbag. He is supposed to the corner stone that the story is built on but Oda is honestly doing a terrible job of showing that.
Look a pirate king is supposed to be the most free person but at the same time the person should have enough respect to unify the pirate world if needed. Roger doesn't even have allies. Even in WB case it's like it's Roger who was pushing the friendship.

Why is Garp like this?
Where are the fights?
Where's the action?

What I get is...
This one's mother and this one's mother.
The race of this one and the race of this one.
Blah blah blah blah blah and
Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
:okay:

Where is the damn God Valley incident?

Shakky addition is not bad. The bad is making her the main plot.

What bothers me the most is that the flashback should've being only about Loki and he is not even the main plot/character of his own flashback. All that stuff we should've learned at Teach's flashback.

Let me join the fun now.

Shakky’s role in the flashback went from okay gag to the reason why the second biggest event in OP happened. So that sucks.
Why ?

Shakky addition is not bad. The bad is making her the main plot.
Why ?

That shakky stuff that clearly was a last minute addition
Why do you think that ?

Remove Shakky and it's 10/10
Why ?

Why ?

When I saw Kozuki Moria I hit this pose by instinct

I was in legit denial, I search for 2 minutes if there was another Moria in One Piece lol

When a lightning striked on the execution scaffold or the storm blew Luffy away from Smoker..

Did you have a problem with it then ?

The bad is making her the main plot.

What bothers me the most is that the flashback should've being only about Loki and he is not even the main plot/character of his own flashback. All that stuff we should've learned at Teach's flashback.
Why do you think this necessarily needs to be a full Loki Flashback ?
Why do you think Loki is not a main character in this flashback ?

Because she breaks a lot of the lore and hype we had so far. We don't have a single thing that we can look and tell oh that's why Roger and Xebec were rivals. Literally nothing justify that. They want different things about everything. In fact same is about Roger and Whitebeard later on. Only true rival of Roger was Garp and even though just because Garp is in love with him without any explanation.

Because that's how flashbacks always worked on One Piece. Is the reason it makes sense. Loki was telling what happened when his father died. And then out of sudden we have Gaban and Shanks talking. And then Harald flashback. And then is about Rocks. And then about Shakky. It became a mess!

You've even forgotten how to properly use punctuation.
This is the french way my guy, it's easier to read.

Nothing was broken. And i'm amazingly hyped for the future, I don't know what you are talking about.

They were not. They were pirates. Pirates are all rivals on the seas.

Literally nothing justify that.
Justify what ?

Only true rival of Roger was Garp and even though just because Garp is in love with him without any explanation.
wut ?

Because that's how flashbacks always worked on One Piece.
Flashback always gave contextual explanation before the actual dramatic content, what do you mean ?

DO you really think that what happens in God Valley at the moment is not important for the story of Loki ?

Loki was telling what happened when his father died. And then out of sudden we have Gaban and Shanks talking. And then Harald flashback. And then is about Rocks. And then about Shakky. It became a mess!
Nah, the world just expended.

There are information about the murder of Harald that we have yet to understand and those information are RELATED to the world / Pirate situation (in my opinion because Loki is projecting all his ambition and current happyness on the violence and agressivity of Rocks.)

If there is something you should know about One Piece, is that Oda never do things for no reasons, there is always a purpose, even the slightest one.

Elbaf, like I've already explained in this thread:

https://worstgen.alwaysdata.net/forum/threads/the-elbaph-political-conflict.63109/

Explores an HIGHLY political conflict : The importance of agressivity VS the importance of Kindness in social and political relationships.

Not only for the Giants relationships with themselves inside Elbaf, not only with their relationship with the outside world, not only with the conflict between Harold and Rocks, but ALSO in the entire conflict that shapes who Loki is as a character.

I believe that Loki is a character that will have to choose between kindness and his agressive behavior, (maybe in a form where he will do both). All his life has been a back and forth between those two notions. On one side, Loki was raised by a hatefull and agressive mother which shaped who he was as a character... on the other Loki has a real desire to be included.

The fact that he was raised later by Ida allowed this side to take a little more place.

This entire flashback is preping that conflict. it's not just a matter of Rocks or Roger, but relationships between father and children, splitted families, brothers who are separated and reunited, it a big mess that I believe Oda will reconcentrate to give us a satisfying ending like he always does.

Despite the critics.
