General & Others What did Crocodile do before becoming a Pirate?

We know that Crocodile because a Warlord of the Sea after his first Voyage and that is why he's Bounty was frozen at 81 million.

but we saw in Law's Flashback that it was about 13 years before the start of the series. Crocodile is currently 46.

Meaning that he did his first voyage when he was in his Early 30's. so what did he do before then?

In SBS 63, Crocodile was drawn as a kid, and Kid Croc had a pistol. The way he's standing with arms crossed reminds me of how apprentices Shanks, Buggy, and Teach were facing each other. Maybe Kid Croc was an apprentice himself to a silver medalist of the Roger-WB era. It could be why he wanted to become Pirate King, to do something his captain couldn't. But he ends up suffering the same defeat at the hands of Whitebeard.

Crocodile at the time of Law´s flashback was famous for being ¨The Hero of Alabasta¨, this was when he protected Alabasta from pirates to gain the countries trust.

Him losing to Whitebeard was many years before that. This was what Oda said in the SBS

> D: I have a question for Odacchi. In "The White City", chapter 762 of volume 76, during the scene where Law stabs Cora-san, I found Crocodile printed on the paper Cora-san was reading.

So what was that article about? P.N. Yamamoto・Sugiyama・Hori

O: Yes. I'm quite impressed you found this one~. As you've pointed out, if you look really closely, you can find Crocodile there.

This was from the time when Law was 10 and Doflamingo was 25; 16 years ago from now. Crocodile was 30 at the time.

Similar to Luffy, back when he was young, Crocodile's name spread across the seas with incredible momentum, but soon after he was admitted into the Seven Warlords of the sea in his early 20s, he tried to fight Whitebeard and was completely and utterly crushed by him.

Though he seemingly calmed down at this point, his eyes became set on the kingdom of Arabasta, and it happened to be precisely during this time period that he was being featured in the papers as a hero who hunted down pirates. In other words, that was an article reporting the acts of heroism by Crocodile at the time!

History with Ivankov and went all out to save Luffy three times after Sengoku told the world he’s Dragon’s son (same reaction Ivankov gave in Impel Down and went 180) and smiled when the newspaper said Luffy took down Big Mom in WCI led me to believe he was a Revolutionary army member.

My guess is he formed Baroque works and know about the ancient weapon from all the connection and experience with them and left due to Dragon’s lenient approach.
