The Holy knights cannot guard Mariejois to save their lives

1. Ancient robot Emeth rampaged through Mariejois and onto stopped because it’s power source ran out

2. Harald snuck into Reverie and an Admiral tried to get his ass but Xebec killed him during commotion

3. Fisher tiger burned the fucking place and freed slaves

4. Sabo and crew raided the place and destroyed all their food

5. Kuma rampaged across the the place

6. Even now they are wasting time as Mariejois burns instead of gathering giants to defend Mariejois

these guys are perpetually terrible at their jobs and it’s all the more ridiculous that Dragon was so afraid of attacking Mariejois because of these bums…

you can even add the God valley incident where Roger and Garp were required to save the celestial dragons even though seemingly ALL THE HOLY KNIGHTS WERE PRESENT… no wonder Sommers was shitting himself infront of Gaban, he remembers Gaban saving his ass 40 years ago

The Holy Knights probably handle internal justice within Mary Geoise. If a Celestial Dragon needs to be executed or punished, they take care of it. Other than that, they’re Celestial Dragons themselves and live like it. No real duties unless Imu gives them direct orders.
Right now they’ve all been called back to Mary Geoise because of the current state of alert, but normally they just mind their own business.

The Holy Knight doesn't care what happens in the Mary Geoise as long as they are not affected

Its so crazy because if it stands, that would mean the elders, Garling, Holy knights, and even Imu would have to have sat by why the Celestial Dragons allowed their slaves to be taken by Fisher Tiger

With Saturn commenting about not caring about human life, nothing more than insects, they really do not care one way or another if it upsets them because they will only be released by order of need. Very restrained in the chain of commande the world government it. To deal with a minor slave revolution by a Fishman, the simple guard for the Celestial Dragons and marines should have handled it and been enough.

We even had a whole issue with Sai and Leo dishing justice on Charlos by order of Mjosgard. And what happened to him in turn order? He died by the Leader of the Holy knights Garling, who ranks authority above the CD only because they wanted to uphold the civil order in how to behave amongst lesser beings. Mjosgard was considered lesser than the CD , so his life was forfeit like an insect.

You have to almost sit yourself in the mindset of them to know how they truly see the world and how to defeat them. Shit after that and the Revolutionary army came in, they demanded Akainu, because again to Garling and the rest of Holy knights and elders, even the average Celestial Dragons like Charlos are just one step away from insects

Is it really that hard to guess?
Holy Knights's Job to Protect Slaves? Obviously not
Protect Celestial Dragons who are Lower Rank? Obviously not
Protect Walls & Doors? Obviously not
Protect other Kingdoms? Obviously not

They aren't there to Babysit anyone, nor bother Protect anything when there are already Marines, Cipher-Pol, Jailers, Guards ... etc
If only there was a Hidden Treasure that could shake the World, which clearly requires a Special Invincible Team to Protect,

They obviously only care about their National Treasure + Obeying Imu ofc,
And No Invader so far discovered or got close to such Treasure (At least not yet),

It indeed seems that they just weren't planned early on, so Oda went the same way with latter events (e.g.: revos invading Mary Geoise), but the excuse could be that they're Imu's personal guard (maybe the Gorosei's too) and occasionally take care of rogue CDs (e.g.: Mjosgard). They aren't really the defenders of Mary Geoise, that seems to be Marine-operated.

This feels like an excellent example of People not paying attention to what is clearly stated about them.

Garling's introduction was settling a matter between Celestial Dragons. Effectively acting as a Judge/Legal System between the "Gods"


This is even supported by what Akainu said roughly 30 chapters before about how Holy knights handle internal affairs of the Celestial Dragons.


Then you had Dragon mentioning that crushing World Government Nations that rebel is also the Holy Knights Job.


And this latest arc is clearly a mission of Holy Knights subjugating an Non-member Nation.



They handle CD disputes
They crush nations that try to leave
They crush Nations that IMU wants
