Thanks for admitting Mihawk > Roger too.
:yearight:
Lol that's not true and you know it.

Mihawk is undeniably the most skilled swordsman, but there's no way he could beat the pirate king, and he also canonically did not beat Shanks. Ergo Shanks can hold his ground against the most skilled swordsman with other qualities and without a black blade.

Is stronger than Mihawk overall in a fight. he ahs haki above Miahwk and according to Oda. Shanks is the freest person alive. meaning nobody can stand in Shanks way, not even Mihawk which is why he ran away at marine for when Shanks arrived.

As if Swordsmanship is some entirely new realm of abilities & skills that we haven't seen before outside of Haki & Sword Techniques.
Stop the cope. Brannew comparing Shanks to Mihawk combat wise this chapter literally confirms that the World sees him as a Swordsman.
Ergo, weaker than the Worlds' Strongest Swordsman.

Did Shanks canonically ever beat Mihawk or is that your headcannon?

Did Shanks ever have the title Strongest or is that your headcannon?

Has Shanks ever fought with anything other than swords plus haki, or is that your headcannon?

spoiler, it's your headcannon

All you shanks swallowers better come with panels instead of headcannon.
Don't bother typing if it's from your heart and not the manga.

They have always been compared as rivals, this chapter told us nothing new. In fact it confirmed it's about swordsmanship skills.

Is Mihawk a more skilled swordsman than Shanks and Roger? Obviously!

Does that mean he can beat them? Nope.

? I never said Shanks beat him, I just said all the skills in the world didn't help Mihawk beat Shanks, so the conclusion is Shanks has no issues fighting against him LOL

This chapter confirmed that Shanks is a swordsman.
Do you really think "Zoro has better swordsmanship than Katakuri" or "Zoro has better swordsmanship than Queen" statements even make sense?
Brannew's statement to compare & hype Mihawk, only makes sense when Shanks is a swordsman.

Does that mean he can beat them? Nope.
Roger doesn't come under the title of Mihawk.
Shanks does because he's a swordsman in the era where Mihawk is the WSS.

One has the title of strongest the other doesn't.
Forgot you can just become the strognest for no reason and without defeating your direct competiton.

:risitameh:

Can you please give me the definition of strongest, because I feel we have different interpretations to the word.

Shanks does because he's a swordsman in the era where Mihawk is the WSS.
The purpose of that comparison in the manga is to hype Mihawk via Shanks. Shanks is among the most terrifying pirates around, and yes, he fights with a sword.

I'm using Roger as an example that a swordsman doesn't need to be as skilled or to have a black blade to be insanely strong. Mihawk did not beat Shanks and Shanks is obviously superior in COC to compensate for being less skilled with swordsmanship/observation/armament. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to be rivals :milaugh:

But ya, I feel like Zorobois have been depressed lately, you should enjoy this to the fullest

As long as Mihawk's bounty is under Shanks', all is good :catblush:

Again do you think the statement "Zoro's swordsmanship surpasses Queen" makes sense?
That comparision ONLY makes sense when Shanks is a swordsman.

Futile since Shanks isnt Roger.

Mihawk did not beat Shanks and Shanks is obviously superior in COC to compensate for being less skilled with swordsmanship/observation/armament. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to be rivals
Regardless of how you break it down, WSS > Other Swordsmen.

God job using the guy who names his kid after his sword.

Shanks wasn't capable of beating him either back when he had 2 arms.
If Shanks grew after they stopped duelling, then nothing proves Mihawk didnt grow either.

This chapter was the nail in the coffin for the rivalry eh? :pepehawk:
No, it just confirmed what we were saying about swordsmanship skills plus gave Mihawk a lower bounty
