Many readers already have the expectation that nobody dies so when somebody does they expect the character to return 1 or 2 arcs later. Pedro being an example, we had people DURING WANO expecting for Pedro to return with the lifespan of the homie.
There are people who think Kidd is alive. Nobody expected half of the scabbards to die, nor Yasuie being killed on panel.
It's time we get used to the fact that indeed, Oda does kill characters these days.
Besides, Harald staying dead and Ida potentially being alive would be a nice reversal of the usual dead mom and deadbeat dad tropes.

Form what we can tell he was a top tier with advanced CoC, and based on his clash with Rocks, he was at least top 3 during that era–only behind Rocks and Roger. Not many people can kill a guy like that, especially since giants live much longer than humans, so by the time all his equals were old and dying he was in his prime. So what really happened to him, like really? From the one panel of Loki's flashback we can DEDUCE that Imu turned him into a monster using his powers. But if Imu can do that to top tiers, then why stop on Harald, why not turn all Imus' enemies into monsters he can control? If we assume Imu personally killed Harald by taking over some random giant's body as host, then why can't Imu kill other top tiers? You see, this makes no sense, Oda is digging a giant (no pun intended) plot hole for himself in Elbaf.
