Speculations What if Shiryu is a red herring, and Zoro's real BBP opponent is Saint Shanks?

What if Oda has been misleading us with Saint Shanks and that instead of him opposing Teach, he was secretly working together with him all this while. In this scenario, Shiryu is a red herring, meant to distract us from this possibility. By giving Teach a swordsman right hand, we wouldn't question who Zoro would fight in the BBP, because its obvious, right?

However, to me it doesn't really make sense. The WSSM is Mihawk, right. And mihawk's greatest rival was Saint Shanks. By EoS, Zoro should be close in strength to Mihawk, so then how would Shiryu fit into this? Would Shiryu be close in strength to Mihawk and Saint Shanks? While its possible, I can't help but feel like Shiryu never had this type of portrayal. Yes, he was portrayed to be YC1 or higher pre-DF and his DF will obviously boost him greatly. But would invisibility really put him on the same tier as Saint Shanks? I find it hard to believe.

Saint Shanks is a CoC master, Mihawk has a black blade, and all Shiryu has is an invisibility DF. Could he have ACoC? Maybe, possibly, but even that seems unlikely as he was an impel down jailer and nobody but sengoku has been confirmed to have CoC in the WG. Now I'm sure Oda could give Shiryu some massive hax to justify zoro fighting him, but I think Saint Shanks would make so much more sense.
For Saint Shanks, Oda doesn't need to justify Zoro fighting him. He's already a legend. He's the 2nd strongest swordman. Oda could even have him kill mihawk and become the WSSM and the fanbase could accept it because we know they are close in strength.

Zoro vs Saint Shanks would not only tie into Zoro's dream, but Luffy's dream as well. Luffy wanted a pirate crew that could surpass Saint Shanks's. So if Zoro, Luffy's right hand, defeated Saint Shanks, that would fulfill part of Luffy's dream.

As for Shiryu, I think Oda will replace him by having him be defeated by a non-SH before Saint Shanks is revealed to be a villain. I'm thinking Kid, Law, maybe someone from the RHP who isn't 100% on board with Saint Shanks, or maybe a marine or a revolutionary. Idk. While Sanji could fight him, I think Oda will make sanji's matchup parallel Zoro's by also having Sanji fight a full blown top tier/legend. I think Sanji vs Aokiji would make a ton of sense.

Ultimately, I feel like Oda has already made Zoro and Sanji surpass yonko commanders. Whomever they fight in the BBP, they can't feel like just another yonko commander.

I think Oda is going to have them take the next step and fight actual legends; Zoro vs Saint Shanks and Sanji vs Aokiji.

Shiryu is Zoro’s opponent despite how disappointing he is in comparison to Zoro at that point in the story. Saint Shanks is either meant for Luffy or BB to take down, Oda isn’t gonna do complicated stuff it’s simple.

I find it very unlikely

And mihawk's greatest rival was Saint Shanks.
Yes, it is a requirement for Zoro to have to overcome Saint Shanks' strength to be able to fight Mihawk, after all, Mihawk hopes to one day be able to fight someone stronger than Saint Shanks.

but Luffy's dream as well
This is where I disagree. For me, Zoro vs Saint Shanks is a forbidden fight just because of Luffy. Saint Shanks is the biggest inspiration for him, if Zoro defeats him I don't think things would go well. The opposite is also true, how do you think Luffy would be when he had his teammate defeated by Saint Shanks?

I personally believe that Zoro reaches the necessary level to fight Mihawk, above Saint Shanks, by defeating an admiral.

But vivre card already states that Mihawk will only fight Zoro after he beats/surpasses Saint Shanks, so somehow Zoro will fight Saint Shanks or Zoro will fight the person who beats Saint Shanks before facing Mihawk

Saint Shanks is never meant for Zoro and will never be. We just finished from this delusional ZKK and the next fanfic is Zoro vs Saint Shanks? Zoro fans really be wanting Luffy’s opponents so bad. Either way Zoro surpassing Saint Shanks is one thing and needing to fight him or the one who defeats him is another. It’s like saying Luffy has to defeat all yonko and admirals with his own hand just cuz Chinjao and Luffy claimed they need to do it. It simply won’t happen all he needs is beat the strongest and that’s it.

They have literally 0 build up, 0 story together… I don’t see anything supporting this theory
Zoro fans want it, that’s more than enough for them. Next up in a few years ZKS.

It would be mind-blowing and a nice twist. But it will divert from the whole Saint Shanks as Luffy's mentor and inspiration to surpass stuff..so i think Mihawk will instead join Saint Shanks. Thus Luffy vs Saint Shanks while Zoro vs Mihawk, is closer to the heart.
