Um, potentially. I overall don't like some of the Oh Luffy and Roger have the same hat stuff, but them having the same dream could be endearing

Both Shanks and Teach were told the same thing by their captains :
Roger told Shanks that he's not the one
WB told Teach that he's not the one

Even then both still want the One Piece

I'm curious as to why people think Shanks carries Roger's will, simply because he wore the hat. I've stated in the past that Dragon is clear cut guy who is continuing what started with Roger. But let's ignore Dragon for now...


The idea that's often pushed is that Shanks is the Roger of the middle gen (which is just an insult to Roger imo), which was then built upon by the recent Joyboy-Shanks mention in Egghead. Further pushing the Shanks is Roger of the middle gen agenda.


Roger had more faith in his unborn son finding the One Piece than his apprentice Shanks. He clearly didn't view Shanks as the "next guy up who'll continue my legacy"... Unlike Shanks who views Luffy as the guy who could do what Roger did. Or unlike Newgate who viewed Ace as the guy who could become PK.

shanks is the one who carried the roger will
Shanks and roger are there protect the joyboy while luffy carries joyboy and nika will.
