Speculations What is the end of Luffy's dream?

#1
It annoys me that Oda offscreen Luffy's complete dream in a chapter titled "Luffy's Dream", but i still wanna discuss about it nonetheless.

What do you think it is? Lemme try to think of an impossible utopian dream scenario involving the world.

- Freeing the world from hunger? Forming a world-scale army to enforce food sharing from every company, kingdom, and government?

- Freeing the world from slavery? Forming a world-scale army to watch over world slavery, and crush anyone trying to enslave others?

- Freeing the world from war? Forming a world-scale army to crush anyone trying to start a war before it even begins?

---

I think it's one of these three.

What is the end of Luffy's dream? Why do his friends say it's impossible? What's your reasoning about it?

You’re thinking too deep. This is a dream a 7 year old thought up when he was living the good life in windmill village.

Luffys not trying to free anything. Luffys not going to try and stop any of the world atrocities like war or hunger or slavery. Luffy likely didn’t even know slavery existed back then. He definitely wouldn’t have known war existed in his small island.

I think his dream will be more along the lines of having a sing along so loud that it will be heard in every corner of the world and where everyone can join in. Hence why he was so gung ho on why the crew needed a musician

I thought he said "King of the World" , when seeing the SHs were shocked and said it was impossible ( Luffy also replied "i might have a shot at it if i become the PK" ) .
In the same chapter there was Imu as well .

But from the 3 you listed , i think ending hunger is the most likely as his hobby is eating ( he said he wanted to create a world where his friends can eat as much as they want as well , when he Bajrang Gunned Kaido ) .

I think it's something that sounds simple and drastic. It might even sound bad but with good intentions

Destroy the Marines
Become Fleet Lieutenant
Become world's most wanted man (too close to Ace's dream, but I like it)
King of the world
Go to the moon
Start his own country (referencing those little countries he made with Ace)

First i think we need to differentiate what does he shout out loud, and what he truly want as implication of his dream..

For me, all the clues about what he shouted, leads to he wanna become the "King of the World"
And the implication of his dream is just to everyone to be free (liberated, independence, or whatever the words u want to use)

This a serious clue on 1060, oda put this on same chapter:
page 7, where usopp commented on luffy's dream "there's no way anyone can do that"
page 12, sabo said "i thought that there was no King of the World"

Luffy's dream must be something bigger than Pirate King, that's why everyone just shocked
Roger's response to his Pirate King title given by marines is just "not bad", this means what he want is bigger than that.
It must be something childish, impossible to achieve, and considered taboo or stupid for the rest of the world.
Make everyone happy or/by Having biggest party/banquet is too small for this
Free the world is too complicated for a child to shout freely..
Go to the moon is out of equation, no clue ever lead to this.. even so, this is just weird.
The only possibility is to be King of the World
King of the world is bigger than Pirate King.. considered taboo, impossible, and childish..

Luffy's dream = Roger's Dream, but this is also same as BB's Dream = Rocks's Dream
(the title is same, but the motivation & implication of that dream is totally different)
Chapter 225, quote by BB to Luffy: A man's dream.. will never die/end.

Fun fact, check this out

A scene from titanic in 1997, I'm the King of the World
A line by Jack Dawson (portrait by Leonardo DiCaprio). Dawson means son of David (the one who is adored/beloved), in line with sun god nika theme, probably "D" also mean "Dawnson" or Son of Dawn, or simply just Dawn, and pronounced by "Di" or "Dee"
He shouted that on the head of the ship (same spot as Luffy's favorite spot), with both hands up..
He sails from Southampton, England (Old Kingdom) to New York, America (New World) where the Statue of Liberty is..
One Piece started in 1999, so it's makes sense if Oda took some inspiration from the scene..

I wouldn’t say 1999

It's not being being King of the world this is BB's goal
Also Luffy said it doesn't want to rule over something for him being PK is just being the freest person
Being King of the world or a savior completely goes against Luffy's personality

He also had that dream at 5 because he told it to Shanks.
So also before he Saw all the poverty, slavery, Cds and Kings

It's a dream which made Shanks and Rayleigh remembering Roger
