Questions & Mysteries What is the in universe reason that Luffy runs out of g5

#1
I can understand luffy running out of g4 (even though it is bullshit) due to him over using his haki even though no one else in the godamn series has ever ran out of haki, but what is the reason for fluffy running out of g5, when it is just his hybrid form and no haki related to it, every other zoan user in the series could technically use g5 for an unlimited duration.

I think it might genuinely be a mental block placed by himself, if my memory serves me correctly, I think fluffy ran out of g5 when fighting the gorosei once and he had the giants with him, and he miraculously regained his stamina once he ate. in the 2 cases when he lost g5 he was not in danger and the other time he ran out of g5 in wano he automatically restarted it because kaido was a genuine threat and he new it

One Piece is a world where eating = rapid restoration physically, emotionally, and hakially. Also Haki is the last thing Oda (bastard that he is) has to scale characters. So of course Luffy's haki is not yet up to par with of the big bads of the series (Elders and Imu). Even with that said I can't discount the mental block theory you have, Luffy is a certified retard after all.

Luffy's G5 does use haki as a part of it, though.

I did hear somewhere that this is a mistranslation so if someone could verify that'd be great.

Aside from that it's just your standard new-powerup-that-takes-huge-strain thing.

haki has nothing to do with g5. why can lucci use awakening without any issue but luffy has a time limit

using haki with g5 is different from g5 needs haki. what I am asking is why luffy runs out of g5 when no one else in the series ever runs out of their awakening

Luffy vastly over exerts his stamina in the form. Because he can move so freely he uses so many redundant moves and stamina draining abilities cause it’s fun to him.
why don't other zoan user exert stamina when they use their df. what make luffy different?

All do, but please name another Zoan user that expands their body to the size of a giant, overly animates all their reactions and moves, and exaggerates everything.

Luffys more worried about having fun than he is actually winning the fights that what makes him different. It’s less to do with the fruit, it’s everything to do with Luffy.

luffy expanding his body to the size of a giant should not be taxing as that his part of his devil fruit power, it is like luffy losing the ability to use his fruit cause he stretches his body.

Because awakenings are extremely taxing to use, especially for those that only recently obtained it.
lucci did not show any hint of it being taxing on him

Of course it’s taxing? Just like Law expanding his rooms are taxing. All actions require energy.

There's no real reason he should be so gassed considering he was able to consistently use his other Gears in quick succession (even if they would really exhaust him and make him unable to continue fighting at all after he was done). I've said it so many times before, but, Oda simply didn't want him to get back up on his own against Kizaru or the Gorosei, so he had people help him. If the circumstances were different, though, he'd have gotten back up by himself. Wano proves that much.

If it was his wound shouldn’t he have been knocked out? Like he was still willing to fight; however, once Jinbe took Zoro away he was exhausted and instantly fell to a knee which is a normal pose for people exhausted
He passed out for a few seconds but regained consciousness, that's really just a feat of endurance more than anything, but the fact remains that the wound did a massive amount of damage on him and it made him far more exhausted than he would have been if he didn't get hit by that.
