Could also be something tied to a mythical zoan but I found it strange that it had a curl pattern in it that's similar to the traditional devil fruit swirl or that it looks like it has a stem. Whatever the case may be I think it's a tell about some aspect of him though. Someone smarter than me could probably piece together a connection with his hair and whatnot.
