What is the story purpose of the strange current story about Capone Bege, Chiffon and the rest of the Firetank Pirates ? To where this story may lead ?

Will it show us what Vegapunk's latest project truly is and so what is the weapon planned to replace the Warlord system ? Could it lead to an important island in the story such as Elbaf or another important place ?

I’ve been wondering this exact thing almost since it began, and I’m still coming up short. What’s even happened so far? They’re looking for Lola, stopping at Dressrosa, then the Germ Pirates AND Marines show up simultaneously and Bege/his allies just start running forever? I know we’re only about halfway through judging by past cover stories, but usually by this point, we have a vague idea of where it’s going...this one continues to mystify. Just gotta let it run its course, I guess
