Better "rival"?

Actually he brought up an intriguing point. Would Luffy actually kill Teach? I think he likely would not. He prefers to break his opponent's will rather than killing them off, that's like dying according to Luffy.
Many fans:

Predict BB will kill Shanks to turn One Piece into a revenge story. :mihanha:

Oda:

Make Shanks kill BB after Luffy exposes BB as a fraud instead. :ace:

Exactly my thoughts…

Kidd is to Luffy is what Kiba was to Naruto as a rival Lmao

Blackbeard is a fraud like Obito

Xebec is the Madara
Roger is Hashirama

Imu is Kaguya…

people will continue to deny, but it’s inevitable
I think Bleach is a much better way to compare them:

Law is Uryuu
Kid is Renji

These two are “Rivals” but not really. They end up taking lower ranked individuals cause they can’t stack up

Rayleigh - Kisuke Urahara

The teacher character who has a powerful history despite his relaxed nature. The only real trainer that the protagonist has

Whitebeard - Yamamoto

Blackbeard - Aizen

Say what you want about Aizen but he’s the real enemy of Bleach. He’s it’s primary antagonist although he was not the final one. He created Ichigo and judging by Shanks and Ace, in a way, Blackbeard is causing Luffy to grow more than anything else.

The marines are the Quincy
Imu is Yhwach.

You gotta give credit to Oda, though, he at least built up those characters from a good point in the story.

Kaguya was literally pulled out of Kishimoto's ass. The reason why I'm done with Naruto after the war. I actually considered dropping it after he wanked the Uchihas, Sharingan, and Orochimaru endlessly, but held out to see the war. To this very day, I haven't read a single chapter or watched a single episode of Boruto. And I don't intend to ever to. :gokulaugh:

I dropped Bleach after the Espada arc, but from what little I know of the Quincy arc, I don't think the Marines are all boring overpowered edgelords like the Quincy. The Marines actually have personality and mission upon their individuals.

I bet what most people remember about the Quincies are their hax powers, 'cause that's all they got going for 'em. :kata:

I mean a decent amount of quincies had actual personality and backstories. But they were few and far between

Kidd is a pretender and BB is a contender. BB will actually challenge luffy and push him to his limit. Kidd will have a friendly rivalry with luffy and will probably end up a ally when all's said and done. This goes double if kidd doesn't leave wano with anyone powerful while Luffy gets yamato.

Yeah. I genuinely like Kidd but the idea of him featuring as a robust rival when it comes to a serious rivalry looks preposterous for now when it comes to the odds. I doubt Kidd is on Luffy's level right now and the gap is likely going to enlarge considering which astounding enemies Luffy will cope with in the future. Perhaps if he stops growing by EoS he might catch better in Post EoS if there will be one.
