They also want to get rid of Luffy,BB and Shirahoshi.So it makes sense for them to help the marines with intel.Also,Aramaki was there to catch Luffy and get praised by Akainu.Red Dog killed Ace and fought a bunch of Yonko commanders.Admirals are confident they can tango with many people at the same time.

Reality: his cameo was only the worst type of advertising possible for Red.
Oda didn't care about simple things like logic or sense.
Possible theoric explanation that only we readers care about: we can maybe imagine that for reasons only Ryokugyu knew he thought that beating Kaido was only a stroke of luck, that Luffy and co were only very fortunate rookies, etc...
But like I said it was just the worst, senseless advertising possible.

Shanks literally says Ryokugyu wanted to surprise jump on ''worn out'' and ''exhausted'' Luffy.
This is like someone attacking Red Dog right after his battle with Aokiji, it wouldn't even require a top tier to beat Red Dog in that highly wounded and exhausted condition.
Plus Ryokugyu said has no business with Law and Kid, and Wano Samurai, so he already told them don't butt in.
Why would Kid and Law save Luffy?

He shows up 7 days later when he could've arrived there with WG right after the war ended if he truly cared about the advantage of them being exhausted

Aramaki was going to get Luffy’s head while the pirates were recovering from their battle.
Luffy was his target, not anyone else or the entire alliance.
He thought that if he went there and the people realized the danger that they were in then they would turn Luffy over.
