Questions & Mysteries What was Aramaki thinking

#41
I don’t see how this could be a mystery to anyone that can actually read.

Aramaki was going to get Luffy’s head while the pirates were recovering from their battle.
Luffy was his target, not anyone else or the entire alliance.
He thought that if he went there and the people realized the danger that they were in then they would turn Luffy over.
"He thought that if he went there and the people realized the danger that they were in then they would turn Luffy over." when was this stated. aramaki went there to eliminate every one not just luffy

From the very same chapter when he explicitly says that he’s coming for Luffy, when else?

Why did you think he was playing around with the Scabbards and asking them to bring out Luffy?
Did you even read any of what he was saying at all?

And Luffy's crewmate? He supposed they would stay out of it or flee when in ten vs 1 they could beat every top tier alive? And why Law and Kidd shouldn't jump on the occasion to take down one admiral, giving the fact that they did the exact same thing with Kaido and BM?

The whole """plan""" was retarded to say the least, but it's only Oda's fault. He wanted so bad to advertise film Red with this nonsense storyline.

The recovering Strawhats alone wouldn’t be sufficient. Luffy himself was the only real threat. It was reasonable for Greenbull to assume that Law & Kidd would be more interested in saving their own necks.

Taking down the Yonko has always been the express goal of the Supernova trio ever since Absa revealed it during Punk Hazard. Fighting an Admiral offers no such benefit to Kidd & Law.

Oda is indeed to blame for it being mainly for Film Red promo, but Aramaki’s intentions weren’t outlandish. The very fact that Shanks thought it necessary to intervene only supports that, Film Red promo aside.

Yes and Shanks reconfirmed that when he had to interfere and save Wano from Aramaki

He never said that, you illiterate bum.

He said that he just wouldn't have come to Wano. Which what every yonko and top tier has not done as well.
Kaido was a strong Wano leader that established hierarchy in the country that Aramaki was talking about, when he died Wano was left without a leader to rule it and establish a new order.

Usually when weaker people enter combat against TOP TIER it's the TOP TIER who are "nerfed" and restricted, curiously the opposite happened with here.

It was such an ugly thing for Green Bull that Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Jinbe didn't see the retainers in a bad situation where they would need to urgently intervene to help them.

All this while Yamato, and the retainers were restricted to momo's plot and her pride...

I think Green Bull would have lost had the retainers been at 100% health and not being restricted.
From what you could see, even restricted, they were already taking the fight to an extreme differential.

Like I can't fathom what he was thinking would happen if he went to wano solo. he would walk in and defeat 3 people defeated 2 yonko plus extra fighters yet he kept on saying he was afraid of kaido.
Someone who ran away like that because of some coc vibes from Shanks is just a complete idiot.
As if he can solo an alliance worth of two yonkou crew by himself, lol ...

Oda used him to give "tension" for readers but in reality everyone knew that alliance would have raped him lol.

Characters are not perfects. He probably thought Kaido's and Big Mom's defeat was a group effort and everyone was weakened. Jumping them would be a piece of Cake for him. Oda proved it by showing us that he is able to do it by mowing down both King And Queen.

So Aramaki was going to beat down all the scabbards plus momo he would have been stalled by Yamato and when the weakened Pirates join up against him he might realize that he needs to leave. And honestly if Shanks didn't show up that what would have been the perfect outcome for that scenario.

But Oda ruined it with Shanks hype for the movie. So instead of the marines confirming that the Pirates are an actual threat and justifying their bounties we got a movie ad.

The matter is what was Oda thinking when he did it. Greenbull was a character with some hype, we were waiting years for his reveal... Just to be introduced well (beat King and Queen plus other beats pirates, despite still injured from the fight with the SHs it was hype) to be turned in an hype tool for Shanks and a laughing stock for Luffy and co. Totally killed. Now Oda can try to salvage the situation using Weevil to somewhat hype him up but the damage is already done. And of course GB way of thought of coming in Wano to beat the weakened alliance that beat Kaido and BM was maybe right on the chart but an admiral alone was already too weak even if the ither side was still recovering. They would have needed at the very least 2 admirals and strike way sooner after the battle ended.

why would law and kidd think of saving there own neck, it is not like they are afraid of an admiral (they just defeated 2 yonkos)

Oh yeah, he totally looks as if he thought that they are just recovering while they are partying:

:vistalaugh: He shows up 7 days later when he could've arrived there with WG right after the war ended if he truly cared about the advantage of them being exhausted
It's well-known that half-dead people throw huge parties

Because fighting an Admiral does nothing for them except risking their lives and those of their crewmates.
Aramaki taking out their competition would actually work better for them as well. They’d already accomplished their goal in toppling the Yonko they were targeting, and it was reasonable to believe they wouldn’t want to go through another round of fighting for no reason.
