So everyone is discussing the fact that the Whitebeard Pirates are once again depicted as being extremely inept as one of the greatest crews on the sea, which is far.
However, there appears to be a throwaway line sprinkled within the dialogue between Marco and Nekomamushi that I don’t believe a lot of you guys caught onto.
On the top left panel, Marco implies that the name “Onigashima” is not the original name of the island that is Kaido’s vase of operations.
Apparently the name was changed after the Whitebeard Pirates left Wano with Oden and Izo in tow over twenty years ago.
This means that the island was named Onigashima either to fit the motif of the Beasts Pirates or Kaido knew the name of the island due to the presence of the Numbers and his relation to them.
Most importantly: What was Onigashima’s original name?
Thoughts??
