What was the last movie you watched?

"The Keep" (1983) - 2/5

Not that great to be honest, I heard that Michael Mann had like a 3 hour cut of this but studios cut it down. It's a mess, audio is sometimes normal other times very quiet.

The Main hook of the film is Nazi soliders occupy a small village in Romania and decide to enter a keep which houses a strange presence. The hook itself is interesting but its all over the place and definitely feels like large portions of the film were cut out.

That being said, the Soundtrack is actually pretty bloody great.
The Keep is a pure banger. Only big downside is the bad and outdated CGI. I’d give it 4,5/5

Ending is rushed and this and that. Still had a blast.

I didn't say "bad". It's just not my cup of tea. I don't really judge their acting on an objective basis. I completely get that people like this type of acting.

I just can't stand it. I feel to me like every actors is forcing reality to appear. It can be fun in comedy, but with other genre, I don't really like it.

Of course not the entire french cinema is like that. So I'll be checking what you shared! (I remember wanting to watch 120 battements par minutes)
The three films at the top have big levels of political reading. You can have a great time.

Ordered a ton of Hong Kong martial arts films from the 80s and 90s on Blu Ray. Looking forward to seeing them
Drop the titles.

Saw Le Royaume lately it was dope

Fantastic Four and Thor Ragnarok were quite bad (for different reasons)
Le Royaume is pure vendetta and treason mindset. Action driven but also depicts a story about a relationship and an island. Literally went into it expecting nothing, and exited the cinema chilled out and touched grass at the park

Jaguark101

"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings"
‎‎
"Inspector wears skirts" 2, 3 and 4
"From Beijing with love"
"She shoots straight"
"Lady reporter"
"China O Brien"
"Black Cat" 1 and 2
"Shawscope" Volume 2 and 3
"Yes Madam"
"Iron angels" 1, 2 and 3

Also got the 4k restorations of the Dollars trilogy on order.

Believe me when I says this, I really wanted to like this film. The premise sounded cool and it was Michael Mann directing. Unfortunately it didn't do it for me.

Superman 2025
6/10
They got the feel and the cast right, but the god damn story is retarded. Why is superman such a weakling? The "strongest unbeatable superhero" keeps getting his ass beat the entire movie and gets saved multiple times.
If there is a second movie pls don't let Gunn write the story anymore or direct it. Let these actors work on a good script. Gunn is overrated.
Because he holds back too much which is a flaw that's pointed out

Angewomon is such a baddie.
The Roses was pretty good, a very slow burn but it built up to an insane finale as expected and a very shocking but hilariously dark ending lol. Apparently the original film was much darker though?

I saw The Bad Guys 2, Freakier Friday and rewatched Naked Gun 1 and 2 (rewatching 3 as well soon), trying to remember what else lol. Absolutely loved the first 2 films there too, both way better than I expected them to be and glad I took a risk on them like Wednesday Season 2 and The Roses as well, despite my previous reluctances.

Maybe I'll give Superman a try then despite how much I'm really NOT fond of what they've done with him and such in it.

I was reluctant towards the new Fantastic 4 and despite being a very casual fan of the F4 and a little hyped for it, it was an absolute drag, dull and just felt like punishment to watch. I hated it so much and the whole Susan being pregnant and literally "speedrunning her birth" in space then the overly melodramatic, cliché death fakeout scene for her etc, it was all just unbearably cringe. Galactus wasn't a giant cloud this time thankfully and he looked amazing until he shrunk himself down to walk on Earth and got defeated in such a lame way. The costumes looked great though and Johnny was a better casting than I expected him to be, Pedro didn't really work that well for Reed for me but he's a decent actor and did ok at least. The guy who played Thing was great but the ones from the OG films was the best. Along with Johnny too. Vanessa was ok as Susan and her playing one of her father's own characters was a wonderful or even a "Fantastic" touch, which I respect to be fair. Well he co-created them with Stan Lee ofc and did art for F4 and such.

I'm mixed feelings on the new Blade Runner so far, but I'm gonna go watch it out of curiousity since I need to get out more, my local cinema is really cheap and I've gotten back into going to cinemas again after a long time.

I'm desperate to watch the new FNAF movie when it comes out, I watched the 1st one and I LOVED it way more than I ever expected to, my favourite video game tie in movie apart from the Sonic ones especially no 3 and the new Super Mario Bros movie (which is far too hated and slandered and I'm glad its getting a sequel, fuck the haters) or w/e.

I saw Willy's Wonderland (pause) which is Nicolas Cage in his own version of FNAF but he's John Wick as a janitor taking down these animatronics single handedly and that was a VERY weird film, with Cage being all silent and speaking even less than The Terminator does or whatever. I don't think he actually spoke in the entire film?! I can't remember but he definitely didn't speak for at least 99% of it lmfao. Very weird film but its certainly unique and got some odd charm to it as a result. Nothing amazing, nothing special but it has its quirks.

Superman - 7/10

Pretty decent and wholesome. Characterization is pretty good. Plot is too much tech to catch up for a first movie in my opinion. The parenting plot literally sucks. They killed all the good about his biological parents and forced in a rushed way the good about their Earth parents. The fight scenes are not that good until the end. The Superman lecture about being human is fucking cringe. Public opinion easily manipulated also doesn't help.

Fantastic Four: First Steps - 4/10

Best scene of the movie is the birth giving. Almost none fight scenes. Feels more like a drama movie than a superhero one. Public opinion easily manipulated also doesn't help.

Soon I will watch Demon Slayer Infinity Castle (I did not saw the creepy guy recording at japanese theater) - Expecting 8/10 minimum (to be updated)
