What was the last movie you watched?

John Wick 4
Finally saw this. 10/10.
High action eye candy, never a dull moment.
Funnest flick of the year by far.
And I'm not even a fan of gun movies.
Bill Skarsgard just jumped on my radar. I knew him from Pennywise but there's definitely alot more to this actor. Very talented.
Also love Donnie Yen in this movie. This guy is 60 years old? Holy shit, RESPECT.
I think the direction that John Wick franchise should move now would be into the prologues.
The creation of the man that is John Wick.

Just watched this, a lot better than I expected and a lot better than other escape room movies, but it only partially felt like an escape room movie too I guess:

Like Bullet Train, it has a dark humour ending which I really enjoyed. The film has a nice tone of dark comedy but it takes a bit too long to setup the game, although its very character and story focused, which makes up for it too. There's a surprisingly decent plot in this, not original but not terrible either, far from it.

The actors were good, especially the main actress. I was pretty much crying for her in one scene near the end, it was very convincing and tragic, I won't spoil it but its something that is hitting way too close to home for me lately and made it hit harder too naturally. The actress absolutely delivered in that scene, nailed it entirely.

Cinematography was fantastic too. The director did a spectacular job too, I really loved his style with this. Using photos as a way to "time warp" into flashbacks was an excellent touch. Reminds me of the 1st Life is Strange game at least. Visually, it was a fantasically designed and executed film, just a real treat for the eyes.

I was hoping it would be more puzzle heavy, like a typical escape room and it being compared to Jumanji and Escape Rooms left a lot to be desired, especially when it was more like Trivial Pursuit or something, idk.

Gatlopp: A Hell Of A Game - I give it a 8/10 happily. 7/10 at worst. I definitely recommend it naturally.

I also tried to watch the Snowpiercer film recently after watching the entire series so far and unlike the tv series, I really hated the movie so far, I could not watch anymore of it than I did already and vastly prefer the series, which I enjoyed way more, even with some major lows/flaws it has.

I was trying to sleep until my neighbour woke me up with banging on my walls lol. I've had terrible insomnia due to extreme stress for the past few days too but Ive had insomnia in general for 13 years ongoing now too.

I was about ready to sleep after watching that movie, as I usually watch some stuff to unwind before I sleep, it tires me out regardless but that asshole next door just had to attention seek and be abusive again at the worst time as usual too.

Also just watched John Wick 4.

Couldn't find the time to watch it in theatres so I had to sail the high seas today.

Overall a great action movie with something for everyone to enjoy - car chases, horse chases, hand to hand fighting, sword fighting, gun fighting, and even a proper duel this time. And archers too.

There are some theories that John isn't actually dead since he got shot in the same two places, shoulder and above the hip, where he told the doc to shoot him in part 3

Tbh I'd prefer for him to just be done at this point. Even with the reveal of Vincent being his dad I don't see how they can go further with the revenge story. Just let the guy rest.

Guardians Of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - 4/5-
A return to form for the MCU and a very satisfying send off to these characters. The villain is good in the sense that he's an absolute piece of shit and you'll want kill him yourself etc.
Oh, I finally got to watch GotG3 yesterday, 9/10, really good movie, Rocket's backstory is sad as fuck, and the HE is such a despicable villain, tbh I wish he was dead.

And I really liked that Star Lord moved on and accepted that Gamora is a different person who has got her own family of choice with Ravagers.

He is dead, don't worry.

I need to shit on Evil Dead Rise some more:

The level of profound mental retardation characters (mainly Danny) exhibit is too much even for a white, horro movie family.

A demonic earthquake happens, a hole in the ground leading to an old bank vault becomes visible, and horror movie son has to go down an explore.
Alright, common trope, whatever.

Cue an avalanche of evil shit culminating in a roach infested, human skin covered book being discovered by Danny boy.

In true mouthbreathing fasion he ofc brings it home along with some Demon Records on vinyl.

However, him and his siblings, who proceed to go through the worst night of their lives, have 0(!) meaningful interaction between them except to scream and eventually fight.

Then there's the soooooooo tired cliche one-liners you would expect from current Marvel movies:

*demon-quake happens*
"I think I peed my pants."
*laugh track*
"Is it warm?"
*laugh track*
"No."
"Then it's probably just soda."
*longer laugh track*

Then the level of brain dead suspension of disbelief you need to have to excuse the fact that the demon, who could rip off a guys head AND neck in one piece, can't bust through a normal apartment door.

So it completely tore off a grown man's head and neck in one go, but can't bust through an apartment door just because it's locked? What a commercial for door locks ig.

The only saving grace of the whole movie is that the two most annoying children actually end up dying.

2/10
