Questions & Mysteries What was the point of introducing Kaidos future sight at that point in the story?

Remember the chapter where Luffy got knocked out before getting his Nika powers? It was the same where Kaido got revealed to be using future sight. One could say that it was to check a box on a yonko having good haki, but at the same time Oda didnt bother to do that with Big Mom in the fight with Kid and Law, and he didnt declare that Kaido is awakened, even if that would make sense to powerscalers and people who care more about the abilieties than the story.
Basically, what I mean is, that it seemed deliberate, like there was a point too it. And the chapter ending with Kaido not wanting a repeat of Oden and that basically happening because the Child Porn Zero Bitches Fedora guy interviened it seemed like a setup for something.
I thought that maybe future sight got reintroduced to setup that what happened was only a possible future and Luffy avoided it, showing to Kaido that he surpassed Oden.
That would sound as an average shizo theorie, but during the initial release I saw atleast a few people thinking the same, so it wasn't totally crazy.
At the end thats why I don't think its worth bothering with theories, because Oda seems to not even put up Chekovs guns but only red herrings (Zunesha just apearing and disapearing is another one, who would predict, by following standard childrens comic book logic, that that would just lead to nothing? Its like if Luffy wasn't immune to Enel and everyone just died)

Because he was about to lose against that Snakamen barrage of punches and author needed an excuse for awakening Luffy's power and make the fight a bit more "full/appealing/etc".

It's what ppl normally call an asspull.

Kaido actually didn't use future sight there, he simply copied Luffy's movements in snakeman using the thieving drunk mode. Notice how it said 'theiving' which is an indication that in this mode Kaido is able to 'steal' his opponent's technique but only in that mode

Remember him dropping some weird hints about Nika/Joyboy, but he never elaborated so I guess nothing🤷🏿‍♂️
Yeah I know it was most likely due to Joyboy/Luffy's power but Kaidos personality is all over the place. He tortured Oden, Enslaved his daughter, and all of sudden he's all smiles and giggles.

I still don't know what Kaido's goal is. Does he just want an honorable death or meet Joyboy? idk.

He didnt have FS until that point when he used it thanks to stealing it from Luffy with Thief mode.
Whether he can use it after that point is another thing but considering that he didnt, he cant.
Unlike Zoro, who steals Kinemon's technique and can keep using it as much as he pleases.
