Because I think Mihawk and Shanks are top 2 strongest in series. They are the strongest rivals. Because I was not impressed by Akainu vs WB in MF. Because Oda said Kaido is stronger than Akainu in SBS and I rank Mihawk and Shanks around Kaido.
I don't think oda explicitly said kaido is stronger than Akainu in sbs? He doesn't reveal such info. That sbs reply was more of a joke than a direct comparison

People can read it how they want, generally when you ask for something specific and you are replied with another specific the meaning is clear. For example if I ask someone that will saying sorry be good enough and I get the reply that if I beg with my nose on the ground it still won't be enough then it means that nose on the ground is superior to saying sorry. This is how I interpret that QA.

The biggest thing though is that no Admiral has shown ACoC and at this point those with ACoC are likely to be stronger than those without it

Genuine question

Mihawk vs Akainu vs shanks?

Who wins?
Best case scenario for mihawk
  • Shanks being a better matchup against fruit users might be able to beat Sakazuki
  • Mihawk not being a fruit user might be able to beat Shanks but not Sakazuki
    • Tho lowkey shanks haki might be hax to the point where it effects cursed blades too. Which could change things obviously
Sakazuki minus the fruit negating is the strongest tho

Shanks>Mihawk was also already confirmed by Oda

The taller one in all these cases have way better feats than the shorter one in the manga. Crazy how that’s consistent. Oda’s not even being subtle here on how he view these rivals.

This fandom never amazes me with the dumb arguments and blatant ignorance because how can you see this and say "Yup, Shanks > Mihawk for sure!" because Shanks is 1cm taller but also see Oda straight up call Mihawk the strongest swordsman and think it's not valid and doesn't put him over Shanks

Akainu or Dragon or anyone else not showing AdCoC doesn't mean much as they have yet to get full fledge fight on screen like Kaido.

We haven't even seen Mihawk using CoC as well right?

What if Akainu has adCoc?

Why shanks is better match up again fruit but Mihawk isn't?

Akainu > Mihawk > Shanks

Akainu is one of Luffy's final villains, 5B (at should be plenty clear), etc.

Mihawk is Zoro's final opponent, is WSS, so he is > Shanks.

Shanks is Shanks.
When you think Mihawk vs zoro would happen?

Oda is simply trying to tell that kid to respect his mom and she loves him even after he got beaten in his own way and by using Kaido as an example. There is nothing more to it

Questioner - Is my mother stronger than akainu?

Oda answers with - Even Kaido isn't above mothers suggesting oda views Kaido as someone stronger than akainu.
