Zoro’s point is questionable. Nothing wrong with checking in on a friend, especially a friend who has gone missing. Same could be said for Ace.. Ace is a bad example because the situation was traumatizing and that’s the exact opposite of what Luffy would want again. Nothing against Zoro just stupid dialogue from Oda to justify them not doing anything until Vivi is captured (as the plot demands.)
I swear to you if Oda didn’t need Luffy to stay put until the right moment, Luffy would be happy to check in on his friend. That in of itself could be an adventure.
