Biggest Stephen Paul L?

The worst VIZ translation imo was way before Stephen Paul joined.

On the first chapter of One Piece, shanks offers luffy orange juice to prove him a kid. Whomever translator it is, thought that orange juice isn't baby-ish enough and changed to milk! But as we've seen in WCI, Oda doesn't think milk is only for little children, as it regenerated Luffy's teeth and Brook's skull.

The second worst is "Reverie" (which was also probably introduced before Stephen Paul, but why do they still cling to it?). Even if the translator at the time couldn't tell it was Levely (Oda probably meant that all kings are on the same level), why choose a word for daydream to describe a meeting of kings? It was simply stupid.

Zolo and Mother Frame are just due to Japan having L and R as interchangeable letters. Godhead isn't that bad. Animal Kingdom is abysmal, not even sure how it happened.
Godhead is the only bad one because there's no excuse for it. It flat out just removes information from the Japanese and adds meaning that doesn't exist.

All these others are honest mistakes or not even wrong.

It's a Hebrew pun. Oda writes it as Lev Ely. It means "ascension of hearts/minds" in Hebrew and means the kings ascending to the holy land to have a meeting of minds. It's a pun with Reverie because this is a daydream and they're just a cover for Imu's rule

Ha ha ha, are you trying to tell me what Lev Ely means in my native language? lol. Lev is "heart" Ely is "my god". These words don't even make sense connected (maybe "my god's heart", if you insist). But maybe Oda thought it was what you thought it was in Hebrew, he doesn't speak the language either... or it could be that people are looking for puns where they don't exist...

And truly I think the gap between LEV and ELY was simply because it was a double spread, and they try not to print letters so close to the middle.

Eli and Ely are two different words. אֵלִי is my god. עֵלִי is ascension.

You're obviously just googling as well. Your "pestle" isn't even the same word I posted lol.
All right, I'm just googling.
You're invited to check my website.
This is my last post of chapter 1086 translated to Hebrew, in which I did the editing and final checking.
But it's ok, you don't have to believe me that Hebrew is my mother tongue. It's only a compliment for my English, lol.

Not sure if people consider this an 'L', but I wonder what they think of stephen paul's translations of pre-skip one piece this panel particularly

apparently shichibukai is fully equal to the entire marine force, interesting :catsure:
Yeah, Stephen made a mistake on that one =>

For example, Stephen's scripts says in chapter 234,
"Marine Headquarters" and "Seven Armed Seas"... two conflicting groups of equal power holding a "round table" is a meaningless thing"

That gives us an impression that shichibukais and the marines are equal which is incorrect, while ViZ translated it correctly as,

I asked Sandman a few years back
