One Piece has some of the worst pacing in manga. But when did you first notice how bad it was?
For me it was in Enies Lobby with the whole Zoro and Ussop being handcuffed. It clearly was to add levity to the arc, but it completely ruined the pacing and overall tone of the arc. Dragging it out.
The funny thing with Dressrosa was the first 31 Chapters felt like they were leading to it being the halfway point of the arc. Then it just kept going and going.

I disagree, even reading the entire arc in one sitting the pacing felt like it dragged on and was structured poorly. With too many cuts and felt disjointed.

nop ask the majority of volume readers you will understand that there is no problem. Ask the newly arrived readers you'll see.
One Piece is meant to be read weekly ONLY if you don't hold illegitimate expectation. Once you do that you start seeing problem, but that's on you, not the story.
The "pacing" peole dislike are just choices by oda that they don't like. That's not what pacing is. THe p
acing are always top notch.
What are pacing issues are what you can see in the anime. THERE there are pacing issues. Real ones.

Again I disagree there were so many times it dragged on and even chapters that were nearly meaningless except at the final page. So must of the chapters felt like they were filler.

Chapters are never meaningless, there is always a purpose to what Oda is writing, even if its goofy or you can't see clearly why the moment the chapter drops. THat's how the storytelling of One Piece works. It's not always designed to be obvious.

Wasting time on gags and goofy things like that while nothing happens on screen does make it feel longer even afterwards reading the entire arc at once.
Lol at people thinking there is no pacing issue. I read Dressrosa volume per volume and Inhope I never reread that arc ever again. It started at EL for me then all post ts minus riverie
The moment i stopped caring about the flashbacks. Otohime, corazon/law, big mom, rebecca/kyros. That, plus his "2-3 chapters then break" method, are a tiring duo. And ive stopped laughing at 90% of the gags so its been a slow series for me postskip.
