The art is sloppy, but bear with it and you're in for arguably the best manhwa ever and definitely the most trippy manhwa ever lol. My absolute favorite is the story chapters titled "Eternity" where a guy enters paradise. It's a masterpiece. Someone can make a 3-hour long movie about it lol.

Bleach only have badass character design
in terms of world building it's honestly is a kid compare to a King
what? Bleach have a shitty version heaven based on Edo cities
while one piece have +25 types of world building and 2 major magic system

Oh I didn't mean world building in general, but I personally find some character and story building pretty enticing personally.

Will also point out that ive never truly read or watched HxH Berserk or Vagabond but from what I hear from and have seen from those series they could crack the top 10 and even top 5 lol

Mine:

1. One Piece - Great interesting well developed world/developing world. Great side characters & side storylines. Fantastic main cast and the story only gets more and more interesting as it progresses with more questions to be answered.
2. Hajime no Ippo - this is like reading somebody's whole life bruh. What George has done with Hajime no Ippo is damn insane.
3. Kingdom - So well written when it comes to political aspect, well balanced development of the "youth" of the story, and fantastic world building that rivals that of One Piece's, though it's not as large of a world as One Piece.
4. Detective Conan - Amazing work in creating intriguing mystery short stories, that loosely connect with a bigger plot.
5. Berserk - No words to describe.


Now for chapter to chapter I would hold Kingdom & Berserk at top 2 spots, but that doesn't make sense to do so, because chapters are used differently by different mangakas. I think Kingdom will eventually be #1, there's currently about a 300+ story worth of different between the two. Once it's down to about 150-200 difference, I would def. put it at #1. But I greatly respect Detective Conan/One Piece/ Hajime No Ippo for continuing to deliver top quality stuff with 1000+ chapters. They're not milking the story, but actually telling the main story still.

But yea for now One Piece for me is the #1 manga out there, followed by Hajime no Ipo, then be Kingdom. Where do you rank One Piece in your top 5 or top 10?

Let me put it this way: I do not rank any manga in the Shounen genre (and indeed even the Shoujo genre) above One Piece.

For me, there are only Seinen titles above One Piece (like FMA, Ichi the Killer, and Monster for example). So, if we're ranking only Japanese manga, One Piece will be in my personal top 10.

OP anime as your #1 anime?

It's one thing to put the manga at #1 (at least you can justify that), but OP as #1 anime is just objectively horrible.

It's pacing, animation and artwork is horrible beyond belief for long stretches.

Heck, if we're talking about anime only, OP isn't even a top 100 work of all time. Not even close tbh.

And another thing: Avatar is a great series, but it's not an anime ...

Back to the topic: I only compare OP to other mangas that are listed as "shonen" works. It doesn't make sense to compare it to seinen mangas like Berserk, Kingdom etc. or completely different genres.

In terms of shonen:

#1: HxH
#2: Death Note
#3: One Piece
#4: Jujutsu Kaisen
#5: Chainsaw Man

The last ones are pretty close to overtaking OP in my opinion. They only get better while OP is clearly past its peak.

If your favorite one isn't here, it could just be that I haven't read it yet.

Thats real, I only really think back to MarineFord in terms of OP anime cuz thats where I stopped watching it lmao. Enies Lobby, Alabasta, Marine Ford, SA, Impel Down Thriller Bark G-8 etc all extreme pleasures to binge watch. I still check in for big episodes here and there but I can't watch the series any more lol Probably should've used that to drop it down a bit but no anime had me hooked like OP did in highschool when I was catching up and those moments were some of my fondest in anime watching history.
