Please provide the scans. Luffy was barely dodging and bouncing around while landing zilch at Doffy, all the way from right after Off White blocked Double Culverin till the moment Luffy used that headbutt combo to breakthrough finally.
yeah Doffy managed to stall but Luffy managed to dodge almost all the attacks and the moment he decided to finish it he broke Doffy defense and sent it flying.
"The moment Luffy decided to finish it...."
So what was he doing from the get-go? It was 20 minutes of "stalling" which ended with Luffy looking "like hell" as per Sabo's own words.
Are you implying that Luffy did not care to "finish it" for all 20 minutes except the end, while his allies, crew mates and innocent people were getting trapped by Bird Cage? Think about what you wrote for a second.
If it was really a fight Luffy wouldn’t have stomped Doffy in a chapter, and that chapter wasn’t even really focused on them fighting. Like only 4/5 pages for the fight out of the 16/17.
"If it was really a fight Luffy wouldn’t have stomped Doffy in a chapter"
Bro... it was 20 minutes of actual manga time. It was skipped in the middle, re-read.
Which had a 20 minutes offscreen break. Besides, when did chapter count became an accurate way of assessing how someone performed?

Kid is a Magnet, his Awakening made him able to make other things/people Magnets
Law creates a Room where he can do what he pleases, his Awakening made him able to create Room from other things/people
The Idea is that Awakening = Extending the Use of your Powers beyond Original Source
So if the Power comes from User, his Awakening allows him to use it on Others too
And if the Power affects Others, then his Awakening allows it to affect himself too
So Big Mom's DF allows her to Extract Souls from others & put it wherever she likes. But her Awakening allows her to apply the same Power on herself & her own Soul, which is what she did when she Powered-Up against Kid & Law
Awakening is not always declared but it has been showed by many Users before, such as Gladius, Diamante, Rosinante, Absalom ... etc
As for Zoans, Awakening increase all their Stats & especially recovery, so Kaidou is most probably always using Awakening
Jailer Beasts lost their minds because they were too weak to handle Awakening, it's similar to Cursed Swords
When someone is too weak to handle a certain Power, they will have Side-Effects & mostly lose their minds
Awakening = Extending The Power
If it's Zoan, it makes you even Stronger
If it's Paramecia, it allows you Affect more Targets
If it's Logia, it allows you to spread your Element without Limit
I can even say Awakening = Limit Breaker
For example Oda in SBS explained that Logia makes you turn into an Element, not generate it (He explained Ace's DF)
He explained that Ace can use Hiken because he raises his own Firepower to the point his Fist bursts into Huge Flame which makes it look as if Mera Mera can generate Fire
So Logia Powers don't necessarily allow User to generate their Element, it simply makes them turn into it & then it all depends on User's Skills with said Element. But when Awakened they can extend their Element Infinitely, which is what Ace used in his Final Attack against Blackbeard, or how Aokiji turns entire oceans into Ice in a second or how Akainu turned half Punk Hazard into Magma ... etc
Awakening is like Haki, we've been seeing it for a very long time, there are dozens of Users so far, it's just that these Supernova are only learning about it recently due to still being rookies.
Thinking Awakening has rarely been shown before is like thinking no one used Barrier Haki before Luffy learned it in Udon, but we can easily name dozens of Barrier Haki Users shown before Wano, even though they never declared it themselves.
Since they used their Powers beyond it's Original Use, exactly like Kid did
Kid = Magnet Man ---> His Awakening = Turn Other Things into Magnets (For example, he turned The Wall into a Magnet)
Diamante = Flag Man ---> His Awakening = Turn Other Things into Flags (For example, he turned The Ground into a Flag)
Gladius = Rupture Man ---> His Awakening = Make Other Things Rupture too (For example, he made The Ground Rupture)
Rosinante = Silent Man ---> His Awakening = Make Other Things Silent (For example, he made Law Silent inside Treasure Chest)
Absalom = Invisible Man ---> His Awakening = Make Other Things Invisible (For example, he turned Moria Invisible to save him in War)

Did i say they weren't able to do it when Dressrosa Arc started?
Diamante's DF turns the User into a Flag
Gladius's DF turns the User into a Rupture Man
Kid's DF turns the User into a Magnet
Buggy's DF turns the User into a Splitting Man
Rosinante's DF turns the User into a Silent Man
Absalom's DF turns the User into an Invisible Man
... etc
It's not really that complicated
So you wanna tell me that Rosinante didn't use Awakening to make Law Silent?
And please tell me, based on what you've seen of Kid's Awakening
What do you think is Awakening of Diamante's DF & Gladius DF?
And this isn't the first time Oda gives Villain's Henchmen the same Techniques as him
When Mantra was Introduced, not only Enel had it, his Priests too
When Rokushiki was Introduced, not only Lucci had it, his Team too
When Energy Steroids were Introduced, not only Hody used them, his Crew too
And when Doflamingo explained Awakening, not only him had it, some of his Crew also had it
Please stop looking at the Story as if everything is waiting for Luffy to learn something so they can also hear about it
Cracker didn't turn anything into Biscuits
When Katakuri turned the Ground into Mochi, Luffy immediately realized it's Awakening or similar to what Doffy did
But you guys can't recognize Awakened Abilities by yourself, you need Characters to declare it themselves every time
Just because Rookies are learning these Techniques recently doesn't mean other Characters aren't aware of them
To be able to Fight Kaidou, Luffy trained for Barrier Haki, something that even Hancock's Sisters can use
So stop thinking of Awakening as some sort of Top Top Level Technique, it depends on User & DF
Top Tiers Fighters & Top DFs can use their Awakening to Overwhelming Results
But Average Fighters or Mid DFs won't really be that Impressive when Awakened
As simple as that
I've been kinda repeating the same arguments again and again without accomplishing anything in this thread. Don't get me wrong, but denying Kaido's awakening for the sole reason that it wasn't specifically mentioned is just denying things for the sake of it. Now it's one thing if there are no implications, but Kaido checks the only known traits of Zoan awakening. And he stands at a level where it doesn't make any sense for him to not have awakened his ability. The dude legit explains to us what awakening really is.
Awakening was a new concept when Katakuri and Doffy used it so we needed an explanation back then. Luffy, Law, and Kid just used it for the first time in battle, so once again we needed to learn that it's awakening. But it's not the same for Kaido or even Big Mom for that matter. These are characters that need no introduction. They're at a level where possessing awakening is totally obvious. I am done explaining this but you're all in for a rude awakening if you all truly believe they don't have it because it wasn't "mentioned".
If awakening of paramecia is to apply your powers on environment & others Or if it was affecting others then now yourself
Then it means people like Diamnate, Rosinante have used it...
If Oda can give weaker characters ryuo, top CoO or whatever then he can also give others df mastery to awaken.
Which might mean Linlin’s awakening is when she used souls on herself since it is said she can't place souls in a living /dead human!
So breaking that limit might mean she used her awakening when she ate the souls and powered herself up or when she healed by using souls.
Kaido's awakening might be the bulker hybrid mode if there's no other forms
I don’t see Kaido’s big nose form as being significantly different from his regular hybrid, so I doubt that’s his awakening.
If so, it would just be another mess that Oda has created in this arc with an inconsistent application of concepts.
Whichever gear or form you think corresponds to Luffy’s hybrid, they are all visually very different from the Nika form. The same goes for the Impel Down jailers compared to regular Zoan hybrids.
It would also just be needlessly confusing when it can just be cleared up with 1 line.
