Borsalino not winning the poll i feel like tells the age of this fanbase lol. Kizaru's impact on Sabaody was a weekly event that imo has not been replicated by other Admiral.
Kizaru on sabaody was incredibly hype for that point in the story, but I found it far less interesting than Kuma on sabaody, I was even more curious about sentomaru than I was about kizaru. They made it obvious that kizaru was supposed to be one of the strongest people the crew had come across together at that point which is every bit of the excitement I felt around an admirals presence, that hype has since ended, but it was to be expected since we've seen plenty of admiral level and stronger characters fight since then.
Who gives a shit about some punk ass admirals, they're all cunts except for fuji anyway. As far as cool character designs go. Admirals have never been in the top 25 for me. The one with the coolest df is the biggest bitch of them all, I can't say anything about the reveal because I really didn't give a shit. The admiral with the coolest df is greenbull, the best part about his reveal was him getting stopped by some fodder with the help of Yamato before shanks showed how easy it is to make an admiral piss themselves. As for the rest of the admirals, especially the old 3 from mf, I have always thought they were extremely boring characters with some of the most bland abilities in the verse. The logia type df are incredibly dull, oh wow elemental manipulation... nobody's ever done that before.
Aramakai for the shock and excitement factor
Kuzan for the instant AoE
Akainu for the devastation
Kizaru and Isho's were kind of meh compared to the rest
The admirals easily have some of the coolest devil fruits in the entire manga, and the reveals are often some of the most epic in the entire manga. I'm only counting the first usage of each fruit, not when we learn the name of it.
This was a great introduction to how powerful the admirals devil fruits were going to be, and I find this scene to be epic in scale.
While Borsalino's entrance on a cannonball was epic, I think him casually destroying a mangrove is epic and a perfect establishment on how dangerous his powers are. It also is hilarious, that the admiral that exhibited such slow behaviors has the power of light. This also introduced the idea to any first time reader that the admirals tend to have logias a general rule of thumb.
Now this was a sick introduction. At this point, most people expected the unintroduced admiral Akainu to have a logia devil fruit and expected it to get revealed in the Marineford War. And, unlike Kuzan's, which was him helping an elderly old man, and Borsalino's which was pretty much him flexing, Sakazuki's was used in combat against actual strong people, and it was really impressive and cool. It was a great introduction to one of the most offensively hyped devil fruits.
Not a fan of this reveal. Sengoku's devil fruit is such a cool and interesting concept, to have him immediately fail to kill pre time skip Luffy afterwards after using it for the first time was disappointing. Though, it was surprising to see that Sengoku's epithet was literal lol.
This was surprising to me, this random old blind man just killed these guys. It really was such a mystery, you had no idea who this guy was, or what his ability was. Really was a good start to Issho's character arc.
Ever since Aramaki's first appearance all the way back in Levely, people have been theorizing that his devil fruit is plant related. Some people presumed he'd be a zoan, rejecting the idea of a forest or nature based logia because it seemed too weak. Not counting the scene where he flies in 1052, Oda completely debunked the idea that a forest logia is weak by having Aramaki defeat King and Queen. This was a pretty cool introduction to Aramaki's abilities, and I love the details of plant life blossoming in the bottom panel of the first page.

What is your favorite first usage of the Admirals devil fruits?
Second one is Sengoku although I might be biased since in anime that moment is done wonderfully, a little suspense and quiet and then u see that big ass mfker budda form.
To this day Aokiji’s DF reveal is the only moment I’ve ever seen in an anime that literally made my jaw drop for about 2 minutes straight. I doubt Oda will out-do that fruit reveal.
Issho went against the norm by being one of the new Admirals that doesn't have a Logia. Dropping meteors and manipulating gravity at country level. Every new chapter of his ability end up out shinning the previous use.
Kuzan had first come first serve hype so he'll always feel like he has the most interesting moment. Him freezing a tsunami has always been my favorite Admiral moment till this day.
Kizaru had the most engagement of his DF use and by default had the most fun rewatchable viewings moments, expressing his gap in strength between compare to up coming pirates.
Was never a Magu fan (was always a fire manipulation fanboy growing up) as it always comes off as slow, heavy, and sluggish ability. But watching it's mass destructive force in MF, narrative superiority to fire, and it's lethal use to vaporize flesh like Star Wars lightsabers(something Kizaru light sword should be doing but hasn't demonstrated) gave me no choice but to respect the ability being Fire 2.0 in a sense.
Kizaru still has the best Admiral debut. Him riding on a cannonball and kicking Supernova's asses is still one of the best scenes in the anime.
Second place would be Kuzan or Issho for me.
Kuzan freezing the entire ocean continent was a great debut for Admiral. But it's been a long time since I watched the anime so it doesn't hit as hard for me. I was watching the anime when the Admirals except Aramaki got introduced so I just based their debuts from the anime.
Issho creating a giant hole due to gravity power then pull outside the casino wearing the Admiral cloak and his theme song starts playing in the anime, damn that shit was hard af. So Fuji could be number 2 since I don't feel as much nostalgia from Kuzan's intro in the anime.
Fourth would be Aramaki. Since I can't judge it based on anime, I will use the manga interpretation. Reading the chapter with some slick music, Greenbull's intro is pretty good. Him making a fool out of King, Queen and Beast Pirate fodders was pretty sick as hell. Can't wait for his debut in the anime, wonder who will be GB's voice actor?
5th is Akainu, him melting iceberg is cool and all but it doesn't hit as hard as the 4 above.
6th is Sengoku, self-explanatory. His intro in the manga is alright but the anime did Sengoku good though.
Alright, so... as I understand it, we're talking about the reveal only. Not the characters and not the powers themselves, but the way they were revealed. Here's my ranking:
1- Aramaki: for starters, he subverted my expectations in three ways:
- I thought he was going to be a plant zoan or something like that.
- I never considered a plant logia was a possible. Never even crossed my mind since it's not a specific "element" or particle.
- It's the first time a logia "passive" environmental changes could be beneficial rather than destructive. Flowers spawning around Aramaki and a lush forest where a desert stood just a day ago are both beautiful and dreadly (for its power implications).
Stomping (weakened) King and Queen was a nice additional touch but definitely not something that influenced this ranking.
2- Kuzan: Not only was he the first admiral to flex his powers. He was the first logia to pull something on that scale. And also the first logia to be a solid element (rather than things like smoke, fire, sand or electricity). Once again, beating the strawhats like that was nice to see, but not that impressive. We already knew the straw hats were little fish and Aokiji was both a logia (this was pre-haki) and la crème de la crème of the marines, so his strength was expected, unlike him freezing the freaking sea and a sea monster so easily and instantaneously. That was a surprise and cool as hell.
3- Borsalino: The entry with the cannon ball was memorable. And so was everything that followed including the "have you ever been kicked at the speed of light?". I don't like his logia fruit as much as most other logias because I prefer powers that can "devour" everything AoE like ice, magma or plants, but Kizaru's fruit is regardless one of the most dangerous ones around, and it singlehandedly raised all top tiers to "relative to lightspeed" at least in reaction time.
It's also one of the few times we got snippets of a fruit's powers but no one (at least among the people I know) could guess it right until the Hawkins kick. So that also gave the reveal some mystery at least during weekly reading.
4- Sakazuki: One of my favorite logias, but its introduction was "so so" to me. I had already predicted it was magma a long time before he used it (going with the pattern of logia admirals and the colors of their suits. And fire being taken). Of course, his first use of the fruit was a super strong move, and I loved his fight with Whitebeard later during the war, but the first move itself was just "oh, finally, as expected". He also missed the timing of doing some absurdly overpowered flex in the starting two chapters like everyone else (the first two chapters of the war were just double pages of Aokiji, Kizaru, Whitebeard, Marco, Jozu and Mihawk flexing).
5- Issho: I was disappointed at a non-logia admiral. I know there is no reason for them all to be logias but I really like logia powers and I like patterns even when they aren't necessary. His starting use was just creating two hole on the ground: one that took out fodders and one that failed to make Zoro stay down (hell, Fujitora even got a little pushed back right after). Underwhelming compared to the other admirals power reveals, regardless of this obviously not being Fujitora's full power.
6- Sengoku: Waited until the end of the war to show it. There was no explanation of what makes it special other than becoming the size of a giant and creating random shockwaves. Said shockwaves failed to injure Luffy and to take down any of the Blackfodder Pirates (come one, Gear 2 was blitzing and injuring Blackbeard back then). He was supposed to be a top tier, even if "old", come on, talk about underwhelming.
