Sakura's "confession" was around the last time I was still reading Naruto weekly. I thought people overblew it. It was a mistake on her part, but she only did it to protect Naruto from further hurting himself. It was shortsighted and ignorant, but nothing malicious.

I stayed away from online fandoms (minus Detective Conan) for a long time, but even I remember how absurd the shitstorm caused by Naruto 599 was. I've never seen anything like it before, and haven't since. Maybe AOT's ending reaction was the closest thing that comes to mind.

I remember after 598 cliffhanger with the shattered mask, every manga site was crashing due to 599 anticipation traffic. Then we got Obito

599 is the perfect example of people theorizing themselves into brain rot then getting mad when their crazy theories were wrong

Yeah I knew he was Obito, I just didn't want to believe it. Dropped the manga mid Obito flashback and didn't read it again until it was over
